Great receiver

I previously had an Onkyo receiver that didn’t behave well with my Sony TV and Apple TV. So I got this Sony AV receiver and everything works great together. I can control everything with one remote and my HomePod Minis play along with my other surround sound speakers. The sound is awesome!

Great receiver!

My 15+ year old receiver bit the dust, and I bought this one to replace it. It makes my home theater surround sound speakers sound much better than before. My boyfriend even connected one of my Echo devices to it so now when I tell Alexa to play something, the music uses these speakers too, so the sound is wonderful. Very happy with this purchase.

Nice receiver

I’ve had my receiver for 2 maths. The only problem I have is that when you fast forward on commercials on DVR. There is a slight delay in audio coming back to live show.

Great Value

This was purchased to update a home sound system after 20 years. The Sony STR-DH590 is a real eye (ear?) opener for me. Favorite older recordings that I am very familiar with now present with fidelity and nuances that I never heard before. Kudos to Sony for creating an entry level home theater receiver that exceeds expectations.

Awesome Amplifier and Easy to Setup

This is a great amplifier and was very easy to setup with great sound and it has a visual screen Quick Set Up that is on the TV screen. The sound is amazing and the controls are easy to use as well.

Set up is not easy- tv start up menu is irritating

The product works as advertised once you get it set up. It helps if you have worked on these systems before. But as the owner of several Sony products, I can say that they are not human engineered in general. The easy set up failed to detect the surround speakers. I had to mess with it for a half hour before I found the right mode so that the back speakers were found. Even then the easy set had a problem with too much noise to configure the speakers automatically. A common topic in review...

Easy setup, great sound

This replaced a previous Sony surround sound reciver that wasn’t working right, so far this on is easy to use and sounds good

Quality tunes for an affordable price

Hooked to tv in the den for karaoke. Outstanding power through my old school Kenwood 777x’s ! Easy to connect and it actually has a mini connection manual that explains all the connections.

Adequate Entry Level Product

We purchased this unit as we enjoy good sound but are not big TV watchers so we didn't want to spend a lot of money. This product provides good sound and enough options that we are happy with it.

Great Sound

Bought 1 month ago and not disappointed. Great Sony product matches up to all my music/video system with ease - all the connections you could need. Only niggle I have is that when I connect my wireless headphones to the front jack it cuts out the sound to the external speakers (I am a little hard of hearing and would like to use my headphones to watch TV without needing to have the speaker volume up to a higher level that is uncomfortable for my partner watching at the same time).

New Receiver

The old receiver was over 20 years old and kept cutting out. It also didn't work with all my speakers where the new Sony does.

May be an issue for my use case.

So far it has met my expectations. It is being used to power Klipsch speakers with powered sub from desktop PC with HDMI input. Sounds great. The only issue is a slight buzzing from the receiver itself. It is on my desk only about four feet from my head, but the buzzing is audible with sound muted. Would be perfect for my use without the buzzing.

Such simplicity!

I absolutely love this Home Theater receiver! It is the easiest system I've ever had to set up and operate. The auto calibration of the speakers works great and the very small and concise manual has easy to understand and follow instructions that has you up and listening to theater quality sound is no time at all. Another excellent Sony product.

Perfect setup for my TV

I’ve been using the receiver for one month and I love it. Great sound, plenty of power, and easy to set up and use. It’s paired with a Sony speaker system and TV has never sounded so good.
