Mixed feelings

Ability to not see microwave over a range is awesome. Drawer is slow to open/close. Hand wave works but still have to pull out control panel so saves no time.

Drawer Microwave plus and a few wishes.

It is easy to put in and take out the food. The internet connection cooking control is handy to program from your smart phone. The wave function to open the drawer is great. So far no issues after several months. Drawer opens and closes a lot. I hope it is built well to it keep it functioning for years to come. I wish there was a trim kit available. I had a trim kit made to close in the gaps to the surrounding doors and drawers on each side and top and bottom of the microwave

Technical deficiencies

I have two issues with this microwave. 1) the drawer starts and stops too abruptly which could easily cause spills. 2) motion activated opening of the drawer is kind of useless. You still need to open a top panel by pushing it to control the thing. So, if the point of the motion activated opening is to avoid finger spots on the stainless steel panel, then they implemented it backwards. Excellent microwave

Outstanding microwave oven with wi-fi connectivity a nice touch. Controls are easy to use and many cooking options including defrost.

Looks modern and clean

Fancy but short-lived

We purchased this as part of a full kitchen remodel in Nov 2021, installed in Jan 2022. It worked fine for 23 months and died suddenly in Dec 2023 during a heating cycle. Although the warranty had expired, I called Sharp for help and they referred me to a local repair company. I called that company who then referred me to another and then another. 18 months and DEAD

Have had repair people out 2 times and now we are about to replace it with another brand.

No integration with Google home

Way too overpriced to not have integration with the 2nd and 3rd most popular home controls (google home and apple homekit) Didn't realize this until after installing, would have returned it otherwise. Wifi setup was also the most convoluted connection process out of any smart appliance I have ever set up.

Control Panel Easy to Ruin

We have used our Sharp microwave drawer for less than 2 years and the control panel has quit working. I don't understand why Sharp would make something for a KITCHEN that is so vulnerable to a small amount for water from being wiped with a sponge. A very small amount of water must have seeped into the bottom of the panel after being wiped clean (and dried with a towel), because it quit responding after that. I have had Panasonic microwaves for many years and have never had a problem with them...

Follow-up

Follow-up to review I posted on August 24, 2023: To give credit where credit is due, Sharp did reach out to me after the previous review was posted. They offered to repair the unit and sent out a technician with the necessary parts. It has been just over a week since the repair, and it continues to operate as it did before it broke down. Thank you, Sharp, for standing behind your product. However, I do wish it would have happened before I posted the 8/24 review.

Awful

I hate this thing. It was in a home we purchased and the ONLY two things I can say is: 1) it works. 2) it looks good It's a total pain to have to open the control panel, hunt for the proper button to open the door, wait for the drawer to open, close the drawer, wait for the drawer to close, then you can set your time and cook.. then you have to wait for the drawer to open, wait for the drawer to close.. Broke Down Too Soon

Purchased from Lowe's in October, 2021, for our kitchen remodel. Installed in January, 2022. Stopped working in July, 2023. At first, we really liked this microwave drawer. It was what we wanted, though the 950 watts did seem a little under powered since we were accustomed to a 1200 watt countertop microwave oven.
