I bought this lawn soil to fill a low area before I seeded. The small square area that I didn’t put this soil grew in flawlessly, the larger area I spread this lawn soil grew crabgrass like crazy. I used GCI TTTF blue label seed so I know this isn’t the seeds fault. Luckily it’s only an area of about 600 square feet and I spread seed early enough that I’ll be able to spray some weed stop with crabgrass control after the 6 week mark. Too much wood in the bag

I bought two bags of this lawn soil to fill in some bare spots when I overseeded. This Product after the first watering, all I ended up having was mulch and wood chips.

Don't waste your money

The bag promotes that this product "Grows Grass Up to 50% Thicker" -- well, good luck growing grass from seed at all with this "soil" unless you have the time to run the entire bag through a soil sifter to remove all of what I can only assume fall in the category of "forest products" in the list of ingredients. This product stays in place better than just dirt. Less tendency to wash away from rain.

Great product

Purchased 22 bags to fill in bare spots and even out lawn. Other reviews mentioned trash and large pieces of wood, but I found none of that. Some organic pieces are mixed in with soil. Material was pressed into large clumps from being stacked all summer. It was easily broken up with a garden weasel and spread with a rake. Held moisture well for grass seed germination.

Get it.

This stuff works and will help grow grass in sunny land hot areas. I’m happy with it.

Repairing patches with Seed and Lawnsoil

Rcently bought and applied, looks like it should do the job. Just applied, and seeded, so a bit early, but looks like good organic material supplemented with fertilizer and water retention materials to provide a solid substrate for my grass to grow in.

The dirt texture is damp and with lumps. The soil needed to be broken up before spreading.. New grass seed is growing slowly

This stuff is just mulch

This stuff is absolute garbage. I bought this because I couldn’t ordering enough screened topsoil from a landscape supplier for the job at hand. Boy, what a disgraceful product. If you thought cheap bags of topsoil had big chunks of wood and trash in it, you’re in for a treat here. The first bag I bought was horrible quality but I figured I just got a bad batch, so I went back and bought another bag.
