NO SPEADER SETTINGS INFO AVAILABLF
No spreader settings available!!! I see others have already made the same complaint, but Scott's has NOT addressed it. I bought this last fall and burned my grass trying to guess what the right setting should be. All turf products aren't made by Scotts, so it's a no brainer on their part to address the issue. I bet they won't bother and don't care.

Very Disappointed
Bought this today and used it to put Scotts Foundation on my lawn. It was very hard to push. Very exhausting. THe right wheel tends to skid. There is something wrong with this spreader and I can't recommend it. Unless Scotts can tell me how to fix it, I plan to return it.

Not as good as old drop spreader
Not happy with this spreader. The design allows the body to sit too low. So when grass is damp, as per instructions, the weed and feed clogs up and won’t come out thru the holes. The spreader is worthless and it’s past time to return it.

AVOID - TWO STRIKES AND YOU ARE OUT!
I have now bought two of these, the second with a Scott’s refund on the first, and ended up with a striped lawn both times. Calibration or manufacturing tolerances (or both) must be off. AVOID.

Terribly designed product that does not work.
This may be the most poorly designed product I have ever bought as it does not function. As numerous reviewers have commented, as soon as you add product to the feed chute, the mechanism basically becomes inoperative. So, I can't really evaluate the flimsy plastic or hollow wheels because it could not even function. Went back to a vintage Scotts broadcast spreader - which is not what I wanted to use - that I've had for year. What a change for the bad over the years!

Done with Scotts.
Shame on Scotts. They could easily help customers by providing info to help customers understand the dial settings with lb/sqft. They do not as they think they can lock customers into their "proprietary settings". I'm done with all Scotts products

Says on the spreader to go to the web site for info on settings . there is nothing I can find that tells you what the numbers mean . I am spreading grass seed not made by Scotts .

Not a long term use product.
1) Axle rusted at wheel connection. 2,) The orange part deteriorated (crumbling), but still fintions. I had the this and other Scotts' units for several years. Each one of them failed due to rust or poor materials. This model in particular rusted at the point where the wheels are attached to the axel. If there were replacement parts I could just replace the axel and be good to go. The wheel axle issue, IMO, is a unforgivable manufacturing flaw. The inner and outer axel "tube" could be coat...

No setting info
Bought this mainly for salting my sidewalks. There is no information on what setting to use for ice melt. Ice melt would not have a spreader setting. Only info in the box was how to put wheels on. A hint on what setting to use would be nice. The label only says turn to correct setting.

Works well except…
It still has open wheels. When spreading when the grass is wet the product collects inside the wheels and will drop out in clumps causing burnt dead spots if you don’t catch it. Outer than that it works well.

Rusted after just a few uses
Very disappointed with this product after using it only a few times. My previous spreader lasted for many years, but the metal axle on this product rusted very badly even though I washed it well after each use. The corrosion was so bad that the axle expanded on the drive wheel bushing to lock up the spreader mechanism. It also expanded the white bushing on the drive gear such that the gear froze on the gear box housing. I disassembled and sanded down the bushing areas to loosen it up, but it...

I dare you to find instructions for settings
They get a run around trying to find the settings. The label sys go to the website. The website says refer to the label. Another spot says to go to the specific seed product for the correct setting. Try that and it just says use the appropriate setting. Does Scott know the appropriate settings or do they just throw out nonsense to customers?
