Design Flaw
The design of this spreader needs work. The main problem is the product you're trying to spread hits the inside of the wheels. The right wheel more than left. As the fertilizer, pre-emergent, etc continues to fill the wheels it overflows the lip of the wheel leaving lines of fertilizer in your yard resulting in dark green strips all throughout your yard. Fertilizer package
Excellent product at an excellent price. My only thoughts on this is the packaging of the fertilizer is unclear about the settings on the spreader provided. However I did work it out to set the spreader at 3.5 and it worked out fine. My yard is always the showplace on the street.

No setting ratios anywhere
So product label says go to Scott’s.com for spreader settings ratios & website says look at product label. In the meantime I have yet to find what setting is 5lb/1000sqft

Spreader no good but fertilizer is good
I really love the fertilizer, it has always done a great job in my lawn however the fertilizer spreader is terrible. The edge guard continually gets stuck or hits something underneath and makes a terrible sound as well as jamming the spreader. It’s very frustrating to use because I had to stop frequently. I have a smaller one with no edge guard and it works but it’s had to push in my big lawn with small tires :(
