What Customers Are Saying
The poplar boards are generally of good quality, with many customers praising the straightness, flatness, and lack of defects in the wood. The boards were easy to work with, produced a nice finish, and were suitable for a variety of DIY projects. However, some customers had to sort through multiple boards to find the few that were straight and defect-free, and a few mentioned variations in thickness. While a small number of reviewers found the boards to be of poor quality, the majority were satisfied, finding the wood easy to stain and finish, with consistent grain patterns and a lack of knots.

Ideal for projects.
Would RecommendMultiple pieces of 1x3x8 poplar came in very handy when I built a Lego table for my daughter and son. The professional grade and texture where ideal for the construction and staining of the table top and small bookcases holding containers of extra Legos and toys.

Poplar project
Would RecommendAs a boy, I began tree climbing poplar trees high as 40' high, their strong limbs provided safe assurance and a good tree house. Now I reflect on those memories with Popular wood projects whenever opportunity presents itself. A medium hardness, smooth grain, appealing, and durable. One of good chooses also when needing wood to make a bow-spindle fire starter in wilderness survival. To identify in nature, is by it's unique heart shape leaf. Thanks to Lowe's for stocking poplar.

High quality wood, smooth, ready to cut and finish
Would RecommendI was leery of using poplar as I have never used it before. It turned out to be easy to work with, no splits, routes and cuts fine.

Nice quality!
I've used these boards for multiple projects. They work well for attaching coat hooks, towel hooks or mug hooks and then attach to the wall. Require little to no sanding.

It’s wood
Would RecommendThis is a solid piece of wood. If you are looking for wood that is this approximate size and shape, you can’t go wrong with this wood. Added bonus that, in a pinch, it can even be used in the place of a smaller piece of wood (some disassembly required). With a few extra accessories and effort, it can serve as a stand in for larger wood. If you need wood, then buy this. If you don’t need wood, go ahead and buy it because you never know. Do not handle this wood if you are allergic to this wood. ...
