What Customers Are Saying
The spline roller tool is a low-quality, plastic product that is not suitable for frequent or heavy-duty use. Many customers reported that the plastic components quickly wore out, broke, or became damaged after just a few uses. The tool is described as flimsy, unstable, and prone to causing injuries and damage. However, some customers found it adequate for occasional, light-duty use, noting it was easy to use and got the job done, considering the low price. Overall, a higher-quality metal and wood tool would likely perform better and last longer, especially for frequent screen repair work.

Would Not RecommendThe screen tore up the edges of the plastic wheel. Then the plastic pins holding it together fell out & the whole thing fell apart.

Not worth the money
Would Not RecommendThis product is made of cheap plastic and the rollers are also plastic. I couldn't find my spline roller with metal rollers, so I bought this one to reseat a spline on a screen door that had the spline coming out. The rollers have burrs on them and do not roll smoothly. It was a chore just reseating the spline, I would not want to have to use this to actually install a spline. I have rescreened hundreds of windows and this tool is one I do not care to use again.

Spend the extra $2
Would Not RecommendThe plastic wheels on this thing disintegrate before finishing one screen. Get a metal one. Even if you're only fixing one screen in your life, get the metal one.

Saint-Gobain ADFORS Screen items
Would Not RecommendThe tools, the screen, the spline. All PURE JUNK! Go to elsewhere If you see the Saint-Gobain ADFORS products turnaround and leave. The rest of the products in the store will probably of the same low quality. They don't have a zero or negative star rating but these products would be the template for that level rating.
Money Burnt
Would Not RecommendYes, this "tool" is only $4....but I don't feel that I got even $1 out of it. I installed no more than 25ft of spline before the concave side of the roller had become useless -- the edges had completely worn out. This was the only spline roller that my local store stocks -- so I'll be buying a useful alternative elsewhere. Do yourself a favor -- waste $4 some other way.

Cheap
Would Not RecommendNot recommended. It’s made a cheap plasic that does doesn’t last. The concave side of the tool was flattened after a few rolls. This tool made the job much harder. If you can find a metal one, I’d recommend that.
Get a More Expensive One
With a lot of tears and sweat and busted knuckles, it did the job. I learned my lesson and I will opt for the more expensive one next time. The plastic is super cheap and flattened out with any amount of pressure. Expect to have to use A LOT of pressure. And now it’s totally ruined and I just wish I would’ve gotten the metal one.

Cheaply made
Would Not RecommendWe purchased this tool to replace the screen and spline on our back door window. We were able to finish the job but the edges on the concave roller became warped so we will not be able to use that end again. If you're looking to do one small job with this and toss it it should do the trick, however I wish we paid a couple bucks more for the sturdier tool as we may need it again.

You get what you pay for
Would RecommendI have done one screen in my life, a few days ago, and so I had to buy a spline roller. As some have remarked, this tool wouldn’t be out of place at a Dollar Tree store, selling for a dollar— it’s that cheaply made. I will concede that it did work, but halfway through the job I noticed the concave roller was starting to distort and lose its edge. Two window screens is about the lifespan of this tool. If you’re going to do one screen in your lifetime, go ahead and buy it, but if repeat work i...

Weak and Cumbersome
Would Not RecommendThis wore down very quick. The head around the roller was too fat so where our screen door had a raised area around where the spline goes, the roller could not reach into the spline groove. Cheap material and a bad design make this a waste of money.
Failed on First Use
Would Not RecommendCould not complete even one screen. The edges of the concave (grooved) roller shredded and flattened. Suggest you find a Seller who offers the type with steel rollers.Love shopping at Lowe's, but they should not offer this type of junk. Would give this a ZERO if I could.
Too flimsy
Would Not RecommendThe plastic concave roller wore out about half way around a standard window screen - the edges peeled off, letting the roller slip to the side and mash the screen.
Cheap and uneven
Would Not RecommendThe convex side of the tool works just fine for pushing in screens (albeit not very well on aluminum) and the concave side is terrible. The spline is strong enough to destroy the wheel not a single one spun straight out of the entire box at my lowes. I recommend spending the extra few dollars on the better product than watching this thing fall apart half way into one screen. Even more so, do not attempt to use this with aluminum screens or you will be buying another tool and a new screen.
There's a Reason More Expensive Ones are Offered
Would Not RecommendI tried to replace a screen door with a heavier screen, and this tool barely made it through the process. The plastic roller would slide off onto the screen itself and rip it; I thought maybe it was the heavier screen, so I bought a lighter screen. The roller still wouldn't do its work. So I used a screwdriver for part of the time, and then both hands on the plastic roller to finish up--but the roller itself got all beat up/damaged, and the handle threatened to break apart when I put my weigh...
Terrible "tool"
Would Not RecommendThis thing was useless. I spent 10 minutes cleaning off the mold flashing before I even tried to use it. The wheels were not large enough diameter to even begin to seat any spline - the whole thing was wobbly. I tossed it in the trash and set the spline with a screwdriver. I did read the reviews before purchasing, but it was the only tool my local Lowes carried; there was no alternative. Lowes: the buyer who sourced this thing for your company should be forced to spend an eight hour day trying...
Junk.
Would Not RecommendThis is cheap plastic, and it fell apart on the first screen. I will be returning to the store. The low price lured me in, but I would not buy another if it were half the price.
Cheap Junk
Would Not RecommendI wanted a wood handled, metal wheel roller but my local store did not have one. I have already thrown this cheap piece of junk across my garage against the wall. It is basically useless. I didn't get one spline in before the wheel was deformed and falling apart. Spend more and find a good tool for the job.
Incredibly Cheap
Would Not RecommendAfter using this product, I cannot recommend it. It is an incredibly cheap plastic tool that WILL NOT LAST beyond your repair and may not even last that long. The wheel is plastic, and subject to uneven pressure and failing. I guess you get what you pay for.
WORST thing I ever bought from Lowe's
Would Not RecommendThis roller is aso flimsy and did not even last through my attempt to install a new screen. The roller compressed into a useless mess. Do not purchase this inferior item!
