Insanely poor design.

Very poor design. The quality is barely okay but the function of this threshold is frustrating. The spring washers will not stay all the way up on the bolts against the bottom of the oak riser. Even if you can get the riser to adjust, the bolt head will stick out about an 1/8 inch. I am just now trying to install this after purchasing it from Lowes more than a year ago. So I am not able to return it. I will now buy a 1-1/2 oak strip, rip it to the size of the riser. I will then use constructi...

These rot way too easily

I have installed 3 of these on rental properties. Within 2 years, I will have had to replace all of them. The piece of wood that is concealed by the metal is untreated and very susceptible to rot. I even primed it as a precaution, to no avail. At $30 a pop, the manufacturer could do much better. $100 down the drain for me. Will be hesitant to buy any of their products going forward.

Needs a little tweaking

The bore depth for the adjustment screws were very inconsistent. Some of the screws stuck up above the wood making for a poor seal on my newly installed automatic door sweep. A little work with a forstner bit fixed that. The retaining washer that the directions instruct to “push” on remain very loose if you simply push them on. I ended up using a deep well socket and several very firm hammer blows to drive the washers tightly onto the screws, so there was no slack left between the washers and sc...

Get what you pay for

This is an expensive door threshold so don't expect top dollar quality. I used this on a door that is rarely used and it works. I don't think I'd use it on a heavy traffic door. The aluminum doesn't have anything under it for support so I'd be afraid it could collapse.

Good quality and perfect fit for door threshold.

Great threshold

This worked perfectly while replacing my side garage door that had totally rotted from water getting behind the siding. The fact that they made it adjustable is a great feature to cut it to the exact width you need.

Aluminum threshold

Board underneath is what always ends up rotting. Would be better if bottom was plastic or composite.

Ok

We had to return the first one we got because the washer wouldn’t fit where it was supposed to due to incorrect placement of the hole but after we got the new one it worked just fine. Over time I feel like the height would fall just from being stepped on constantly. And if it’s in place it would be hard to readjust.

Threshold

My old one was broken and I used this to replace. I had to buy an extension for it on Amazon, but other than that it worked great.

Decent

Installed to update damaged threshold at customers home. Installs easily, stops drafts.

Poor design and poor materials

The adjustable part of the threshold depends on small washers that are the wrong size for the application. As a result the adjustable part is useless. It works OK as a standard threshold, but I've had to buy a replacement door sweep to make up for the gap caused by the non-adjustable threshold! Also the wood under-piece had a big knot in it and also a split. This wood does not appear to be treated and will rot within a short time. They could have at least painted it.

Easy to install

Went in very easily. Easy to stain to match floor.

Out with the old

Replaced a similar one. Had to cut to size. I would recommend using the old one to size and center the holes as best you can. Cutting both sides
