What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this trimmer for its power, lightweight design, and seamless compatibility with existing battery systems and attachments. Many highlight its ability to cut thick weeds and tall grass with ease, quiet operation, and smooth string feeding. The ecosystem integration is a major draw for existing users, who appreciate shared batteries and interchangeable accessories. Battery life remains the primary concern, with reports of 15-20 minutes per charge, though most find this acceptable with spare batteries or for smaller yards. Despite minor complaints about weight and occasional string durability issues, the overall sentiment remains strongly positive.

Good value
Would RecommendWorks great I cut the perimetwr of my yard, both side of the fence and trimmed the easement to see what it would cut and how long the battery would last. The weed eater cut everything In its path and the battery still had one bar of charge left in it. Looks like this weed eater wiil cut some grass and weeds. I only had to advance the string a couple of times but the head worked flawlessly.

Inefficient Motor?
I have had Kobalt tools since 2019. Having great luck with Kobalt for years I chose them again to replace our 18v Black and Decker Grasshog. It has up to a 15inch cutting path which is a huge improvement over my previous 12, dual string, bump feed, and FAR more powerful than my other string trimmer. It is heavier, and probably should come with a shoulder strap. But my main concern is BATTERY LIFE. I trimmed up about 50 ft and the included 4ah battery was at 1 bar. Surprisingly it made it another...

Will soon be replaced by newer models.
Would Not RecommendLike- works with attachments from my old troy-bilt trimmer plus with accessories. Motor died but was left with four accessories that needed a motor which is no longer available. This Kobalt filled that need. Don't like- battery life is short. you will need to purchase one or two more or get 6 AH batteries NOT 4
