It works great for homeowner use close to charger.

I like that it takes the sane battery that my weed trimmer and blower use.

Great lightweight tool

This is a great lightweight powerhouse. Works great for felling medium size trees and general cleanup of limbs.

Terrible

I have 2 Stihl chainsaws and an electric Craftsman. with a short blade. Both Stihl chainsaws are over 18 years old. All work perfect with a little maintenance. I can't keep the chain on this Kobalt.

Chain keeps coming off

Chainsaw seems solid enough except the chain just pops right off. No matter how tight I adjust the tension the chains cuts for a few seconds and jumps off. Wish I had returned it. I wanted to like it.

Average at best

Kids got this for me as a Father's Day gift a few years ago. After using it for about two years here's what I can say: The oiling system keeps getting gummed up with sawdust and requires constant cleaning since there's nowhere for the dust to escape during cutting. Also, the chain will not stay adjusted unless you absolutely crank nuts holding the bar down and even then they still work loose. The chain that comes with this is cheap and dulls very quickly. Works as well as expected

Cuts very well. Battery last a good while. When battery gets just a little low, the power decreases and it stops operating. That might be an issue if you are planning on cutting a lot of wood in a short period of time. You will definitely need more than one battery

No Parts availability

Saw worked well. Backed my tractor over it and bent the wrap around handle and broke the plastic safety handle. No replacement parts available from Lowes. No replacements parts available from Greenworks

My First Chain Saw

I really liked the detailed instructions which I did read in detail before operating my new chain saw. I liked that Safety is very important to Kobalt and it makes me more careful in using the saw. I was very impressed with the power of the saw as I easily cut out 3 overgrown yews from 35 years with power to spare.

Super simple to operate and lightweight

Very, very, pleasantly surprised. I have 3 Kobalt 80V batteries from other tools I’ve purchased (which are great also) so after reading reviews thought I’d give it a shot. I have a 59 cc 20”Echo for the big jobs, but just took this thing out with the 3 full batteries and made quick work of 5 30’-50’ pines. And the 3rd battery still had 2 of the 3 lights of power left. The chain did need a little sharpening before falling the 4th tree…but overall 5 out of 5 stars…and did I mention it’s super quie...

Great saw for cutting a few limbs a year.

RPM is to slow, therefore as the chain moves across the wood, you can feel each tooth of the chain as it makes contact. Does not cut as fast or as smooth as a gas saw. Kind of like driving slow over multiple speed bumps.

Stopped working after first use

Worked fine the first day - tried to finish cutting up the tree the next day and it would only run for a second and shut off or just hum but chain would move - tried removing the chain/bar assembly completely and reinstalling but it didn’t t help - going back - I had hope electric was the way to go but I guess I need to go back to a traditional one

Solid chainsaw

Very happy I could get the 80v chainsaw so I can use the batteries with all my gear. Mower,blower, trimmer, hedge trimmer.

Great saw

I am a 73 year old petite woman. I bought this saw because I got tired of waiting for the men in my house to clean up some trees that had fallen. They told me I would not be able to handle this saw. Well I proved them wrong! I like the safety features. The battery has a long life and recharges fast. Truly a great purchase.
