Buy this saw!

Only had it for about a month now but man does this thing work! I have two gas chainsaws but they'll be going up for sale. So far I've cut down and cut up four large pines, and two oak trees. Granted, it takes a little bit of extra time to cut through oak but it barley slowed this thing down. The 2aH battery holds up very well. Heck, by the time it needs recharging, I'm in need of a recharge too!

It's a love hate relationship.

It's a good looking saw, and actually cuts wood pretty good. That's if the chain will stay on. I bought 2 of these 80v battery powered chainsaws. I've been happy with all my other kobalt battery powered tools (mowers,weedeater) until I bought these. I bought myself and my son one and neither saw will keep a chain on longer than a few cuts. Cuts friggin fast!!

Cuts super FAST. Have to keep the chain a little tighter than gas power. Works so fast, you cut a ton more than gas but battery does not last long, so I just cycle through and use a battery from my Kobalt weed wacker. Get the bigger battery if you get one and intend to do a lot of cutting.

Continue to be impressed with 80v lineup!

Im a DIY homeowner so im no expert. I've only fell and cleaned 18 trees (pine and oak) some up to 18" in diameter with a gas Husqvarna 20". I managed to destroy two chains and one bar, even with proper greasing and oil. Failed at blade sharpening. I used this Kobalt for the first time felling and cleaning two pines, one 14" and the other 16" in diameter. Almost completely went through two 2ah batteries. Far more powerful than I expected

Good power, good battery life, extreme ease of use vs gas powered saw.

Great, powerful saw without the hassle of gas!

Very easy to use and quite powerful. As other reviews have mentioned, you can tackle pretty large jobs with this saw. I've been able to easily handle 12-inch diameter trees/branches with ease. The charge lasts a long time as well (obviously depends on what your cutting though) so I've been satisfied. This coupled with the fact that you don't have to deal with gas, makes this one a winner!

Need to include everything to operate in box

Have not used it yet, they do not provide chain oil for it and I have not gotten any as of yet. It looks nice

Awesome Chain Saw

I found this chainsaw online and it looked just like what I was looking for. Great power and light easy to use. cut through anything I wanted to cut with little or no problem. Battery lasted for hours. so nice not to have to mix fuel and try and crank over and over again.

Chain keeps coming off

This is a serious safety hazard. The chain keeps popping off.

way better than the new version

I have two of these and one of the newest version. This one is quieter and it does NOT shut off every fews seconds like the newer version does when cutting large logs. The newer one has a better oil tank and you don't have to keep turning it on all the time like you do with this one so if you're only cutting limbs you might like it better but if you want to cut some real logs this older version is the way to go. Not ready for primetime!

This chainsaw struggles with small trees. Constantly gets stuck in the tree.

Very powerful

Nice change from 4 cycle gas trimmer, no vibration, and so quiet!
