Great light duty chainsaw

Great for chopping up stuff that falls after storms, de-limbing dead or cumbersome branches. Fewer moving parts than a traditional chainsaw, less wear and tear, less maintenance. Probably not a great choice if you need to fell a large number of trees in a short-period of time but great for occasional use, no worrying about it sitting around unused and the gas going bad etc.

Electric chain

Nice handling. Not too heavy and the cut is just as good as my old rip chain. Would be a great replacement to gas

A lot of power in a chainsaw

We went away from a gas chainsaw a long time ago and had been just using a plug in. The plug in just never seemed to have the power a gas chain saw had. This will eliminate your need for any trees or branches you need to cut down. Battery lasts quite a while and it makes a smooth cut. Worth every penny spent!!! Long live Kobalt

Perfect size

Trimming ladder fuel is the perfect job for this chain saw. Ease of turning on when ready to cut is a real plus.

Kobalt 80 Volt Chain Saw failure.

I have all the Kobalt 80 volt tools except the lawnmower. Have loved them until today. The chainsaw motor will not run. Chain rotates by hand, the motor humms but that is it. It was great until it stopped working. Have not heard back from Lowes customer service.

Powerful, safe, easy to work on.

After slicing through a few large limbs I could tell the chain was getting loose, so I took the time to disassemble the bar and chain assembly and did some cleaning too. The whole thing comes apart quickly and reassembles with ease. The electric chainsaw also is incredibly safe to fire up while on a ladder, as opposed to a traditional gas powered version.

Saw works well. Only downside is that the chain gets dull quickly.

Great saw

My old Poulan gas saw required more time working on it that I spent actually sawing. My 68 yr old arm was giving out trying to start the darn thing. This electric saw is great. Not great for cutting a cord of wood but I trimmed a LOT (about 3 hrs of on and off running) before the battery quit. In fact, I ran down first.

Excellent purchase

I was worried a battery saw would not perform as a gas saw would. This 80v saw is amazing. I had an 80 foot by 15 foot area that needed clearing and this saw made short work of it.

Great saw! Can't believe the power !

Cut through up to 16" logs with this. If you cut big logs it goes through the battery fast, but for medium to small logs it's great ! I'm selling my small gas saw , because I won't need it anymore !

Great Little Saw!

I have a gas powered chainsaw that is more trouble to start than it is worth. I bought the Kobalt 80-volt Chainsaw (the one with the battery) a week ago. I put it to the test this week. We had a tree trunk that needed to be cut up and moved out of our front yard. I did some cutting before I thought of taking some pictures. The pictures tell the story pretty well. More guts than I expected

Like others have written this is a nice unit. Weight is comparable to gas of same size. Would I use this to join a logging crew ( of course not ) but it's great for small farm work we use it for. Cuts through 12" alder and fir here with no problem. Nice to just have a saw we can push the button and cut away. Get and extra battery for almost 0 down time. We picked up the weed eater so 2 batteries ( btw it's great too ).

Kobalt 80 volt is Fantastic

Amazing power and battery lasts a long time. I don't like the gas engine hassle so thought I would try this last year to be used on a small farm. Extremely pleased with purchase. I then went back and bought Kobalt 80 volt trimmer. I have a spare battery so I can always complete whatever project I have going.

I own the blower (which is awesome) , trimmer and chain saw. They are the best outdoor purchase ever made. Will be buying mower next. Love this line.

Great product

First I bought a Kobalt 80 volt blower. I loved it but the battery wouldn’t last quite as long as i needed, about 30 minutes. So I bought a second battery and it only takes about 30 minutes to charge. Problem solved. I was actually pretty sceptical about buying the chainsaw but I did anyway and I love it. Now I have 3 batteries and 2 chargers and I never have to stop and wait to charge. I’ve cut up some pretty large trees that died in my years and the saw was more than adequate. Love those koba...

Excellent product 3 years in

I bought mine three years ago a few months after buying a house on a 7-acre wooded lot. Never had luck with gas-powered tools and was tired of having to pay a tree service every time a tree came down across my driveway. The only problems I've had with this are due to my own stupidity (not checking the bar oil, not getting the chain sharpened when it was dull). Promotional literature says it can do a 30-inch tree; not sure I would tackle that but I have cut felled logs 16 inches diameter. Lov...
