I am wanting to reduce my gas tools as much as possible because I do not want to store the gas. This saw starts easy, no pulling to get it cranked like with gas saws.The saw is much quieter than the gas ones. The saw is about the size and weight of an 18 inch gas saw. Works Great!

Was just what we needed to clean up some fallen branches from a winter storm. Since I have a Kobalt lawnmower and leaf blower I can use the batteries interchangeably. Looking into the snow blower as my next Kobalt purchase.

Know what you are in for

This is not for spending all day in the woods lumberjacking and it is not marketed as such. With that in mind, if you accept that limitation it is a fantastic machine and I am glad I purchased it. I have 3 acres full of deadfall Virginia pine that cuts easy and burns hot. One battery charge gives me about four days worth of firewood (not including the hardwood I mix in to keep the fire sustainable). Very good home use option

My brother has a firewood business of several years which I help with frequently and have used several gas saws in that time. This is not a saw that will last under constant use or for larger hard woods, and I'm sure was not designed for business-level performance. I have purchased this saw strictly for smaller home use for 16" or less tress and branches that have fallen and have nothing but kind words for it's operation in that capacity. Future of Kobalt at Lowe's

The chain saw works fine. Time will tell how long it lasts before repair or replacement. I was disappointed to find out when I picked it up that Lowe's will no longer carry Kobalt. Fortunately, Lowe's will honor warranties, and Greenworks uses the same 80v Max battery.

Best tool in the Kobalt 80v family

The chainsaw completed my collection of all 3 80v kobalt tools (blower, edger/weed eater). I have a 16" gas saw that has more power, but is a maintenance hassle. I picked this up when a 24" diameter Pin Oak got blown over on my 3 acre wooded property. I was able to clean up most of the canopy on a single battery charge. nice chainsaw

works great. cuts great. if u have 2 batteries charging one while using the other u just keep cutting. i gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the chain pops off the bar too easy. Im cutting up a huge willow now that blew over.

Awesome chainsaw

It is so easy to start and stop often, this chainsaw is a much better option for me than my gas chainsaw. For an occasional user a gas chainsaw is really finicky to get to start consistently and keep running. Battery powered, no problem.

Great tool

This battery chainsaw is much quieter and lighter than a gas chainsaw. It has a good amount of power, and the battery lasts well.

Kobalt Electric Chainsaw Great for Clean Up

Hurricane Florence left us with 18 downed trees in the yard. Even after professional help, there were a lot of standing dead trees and other limbs that needed a trim. I used gas powered chainsaws for many years, but arthritis now makes starting one too difficult. Battery power was the answer. And it is much quieter to operate. The build is lighter than an equivalent 18-in gas powered chainsaw, but it still gets the job done.
