Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 250 -Piece Metric and standard (SAE) Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case

Lowe’s Cancelled my order

My wife ordered this set for me as a Christmas present when it was on sale. Order was delayed then After waiting a week after Christmas and Lowe’s charging us for the item they then cancelled our order without any explanation. They did refund us, but I wanted the product for the price we paid not the full price now that’s showing I can get it shipped to me in 3 days. Guess they didn’t want to honor their sales price so they just cancelled the order. Do better Lowe’s.

Variety is awesome, Case is garbage

Excellent assortment, horrible case setup. The tools included are great, but the case and trays are crap. They do not slide properly and fall from their positions, entirely defeating the purpose of the tray system.

Kobalt 290 pieces tools set

The order and the process it’s was fine, my complaint is with the item itself that it’s looked like used when it’s supposed to be new but can’t really say much for it price

Great product

Has lot tools you need to just take out the garage to the driveway instead of running back and forth.

Comprehensive set

Awesome set for my purposes, semi casual user. For the price I paid great value

Worst case. EVER.

The only reason the set gets two stars is because of the tools themselves. About as complete of a set as I need, and they seem to be of good quality. The case itself is an absolute TRAINWRECK! It wouldn't matter if you were going to take each tray out and store it separately in a cabinet, but that was not my intention. I needed something that was all-in-one, that I could store on a work bench, or throw in the truck for a project elsewhere. The trays do not want to slide out, the other trays fall...

Good Tools - Not So Much on the Case

The tools are great and all were included; however, I have the same complaint about the case as others - The sides are pushed outwards and the drawers simply drop when the drawer below is removed. I do not know if Lowes is stacking heavy items on top of the tool box causing the case to bow outwards, but it is obviously a common issue that needs to be resolved.

Drawers don’t fit in case properly

As the title reads it’s pretty self explanatory the tools are great I’ve owned kobalt before but the case isn’t made well that holds the drawers. I wish I would e read some of the reviews before purchasing. Other then that it’s a very complete set minus the fact that the drawers don’t fit and fall out

laser etching on sockets unreadable

Decent quality overall but after using them for a year or so, you can't read the sizes anymore. I have craftsman sockets that are decades old and easily legible.

It was a gift

This is a great set which has the basics for repai

This product was purchased to replace a tool set lost in the fire

Tools are great, Case is absolutely terrible.

Like so many other reviews of this product, the case is terrible. The trays hold my tools quite well, but they are a royal pain in the butt to get slid back in once you slide them out.. I do like the trays come out as I can pull an entire drawer of sockets out and have them nearby when I am working but the plastic sides of the toolbox aren't rigid enough to keep the other drawers from falling down if you pull one out. This also makes them very difficult to get back in as the tray will catch...

Good kit for the price.

This kit has just about everything i was looking for. The drawers come out completely and fit inside my big shop tool box keeping everything organized. If i need to take these tools on a service call away from the shop i can put the drawers back in the kobalt box it came with and still have just about every socket or wrench i would need and not worry about dropping or losing expensive tool truck tools. Overall this is a good kit for the price

Steer clear, the outer case is so flimsy

The tools are great but this is the worst design for the tool holder. The shelves drop down on each other and its extremely difficult to get the shelves out of the outer shell. I bought this as a trunk took kit but its so bad i will buy a different set for this use and move these drawered shelves into a shop tool box.

overpriced and unorganized.

missing common sizes, unorganized and extremely bulky for amount in it. harbor freight has better stuff even!
