Kobalt 250 -Piece Metric and standard (SAE) Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case

Box is flimsy

This set has a good amount of useful tools for a variety of mechanical jobs. The only problem I've had is the 3/8 socket wrench. One of the small screws fell out from the head and it won't ratchet. But the most annoying part of this set is the flimsy box. The drawers do not slide in and out easily and collapse when the bottom drawer is pulled out.

Broken case

I ordered this set online and had it shipped to my house. The case came broken. I saw on the Q&A here that Lowe's can send a replacement case. I called customer support and was told that they can't send just a case, that I need to exchange the entire set for a new one. The set is now out of stock so I have to wait until it's back in stock to replace it.

Good tools, useless case

The tools are nice and decent quality for the average homeowners use. I anticipate them holding up well with occasional use. The case, however, is cheaply made and difficult to use (doesn’t open easy, pieces fall out in transit). I took the drawers out and put them in my tool bench; if you are going to do that, probably fine.

Get what you pay for, cheaply built product

I liked the price, but with that price cam great sacrifice on the tool box. The drawers just fall of the rails and is absolute garbage. The top tray falls down onto the drawers, so you cant even open them.

The case the tools come in is poor quality

The price was really good The tools okay but the hard case toolbox is horrible. The trays the tools come in do not fit properly in the box and they fall on one another and they're hard to get out because they get stuck on top of each other. The case is made with four quality and is not structurally sound.

Horrible case

Tools are ok but the case is horrible. It always gets stuck whenever you pull a drawer especially if you pull the bottom, the top ones fall in an angle then it's a struggle to put it back together. Missing a few pieces when I got mine.

Toss the box, keep the tools!

Great tools. TRASH BOX. literal trash box. Doesnt hold some tools and they fall out. Other tools are FAR to tight and i have to get a flathead to even get them out... However, this set was absolutely perfect for me because i planned to toss the box anyway and put all the tools in my craftsman tool chest. Picked up some harbor freight socket organizers for $1.5 each and they work like a charm. Kobalt tools seems solid, excited to have a mechanic set for an excellent price.
