Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 250 -Piece Metric and standard (SAE) Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case

All your socket/wrench needs!

This set is very cool! It has all the sockets and wrenches you need, in addition to a large variety of bit drivers. The SAE are marked with a red stripe and Metric are marked with a blue stripe. It contains 6 point and 12 point sockets. There isn’t much contrast in the size markings on the sockets so you have to turn them in the light a bit. It’s nice that each drawer pulls out and you can take it with you to complete your task. The size of the tool is marked nicely on the plastic drawer to ass...

A very complete, but not high quality Ratchet set

I really wanted to like this mechanic’s set. Before I get into the problems with it, let me talk about what this product does well. This is a very complete set. I’ll include a picture of everything in it, as that’s easier than putting it all here. Also, I love the color coded red/blue rings around each socket. It makes it very easily to quickly identify your standard vs metric sockets. The drawers do hold the sockets very firmly. I removed a drawer, flipped it over, and shook it and none of t...

Tools are good, chest is bad

I've been going through the tools, using as many as I can, and so far haven't encountered any problems. My usage is around the house projects, so I can't speak to any heavy mechanic or construction durability, but for my needs I have no complaints. I think there is such a huge variety here I won't ever need any additional sizes beyond what's provided. They seem to be well made and sturdy, I believe they will last a long time based on what I've observed so far. The chest the tools came in, how...

Nice set of tools!

I am impressed with this set of tools. Everything has a place and the box is rather lightweight. The plastic box makes it so that it doesn’t rattle as travels in my vehicle and everything has its place. The drawers are a little tight to pull out but I think that is a plus as, over time, as I believe the plastic will loosen up some. The etching on each of the tools is nice and helps to easily see the size of the tool. The color banding also help to find the metric tools from the SAE ones. There i...

Kobalt Mechanics Tool Set

The Kobalt 250 piece Mechanics Tool Set is a great assortment of tools with both SAE and metric tools. All of the tools are of quality and should provide years of excellent service. I like the removable trays, they enable a person to carry several sizes of the tools being used to the work area without carrying the whole tool box. The only negatives I have found are with tool box itself. I find the the trays are hard to put into or pull out of the tool box. It is possible as I use the tools more ...

Replace your unmatched tools with quality!

The quality of these tools and the well designed tool box solved a major issue we all have..I had acquired hundreds of unmatched often cheap tools over years. They filled the drawers and pegboard of my garage bench. I frankly did not expect at this price to get this many tools and an innovative space saving storage box of this quality and range, and have both metric and SAE. Tools are professional quality chrome vanadium, and frankly are gorgeous. Acquiring this set allowed me to clean out m...

Really Good Set of Tools

For the number of tools included in this set, you can't beat it! Great for any home DIYer. Only thing that can be improved on is the case. The drawers can be a little difficult to pull out at times. Looking forward to using this set for years to come!

First off, as a Handyman/Shade tree mechanic, this tool set is perfect. For my Handyman Business, It’s a Big plus, Having the right tools for the job is a great way to get the jobs done right the first time. Looks very nice! Tons of different tools!

First off, I am a "Handy man" only! Not a professional. This product includes so many different tools and is very impressive. This 250 piece set should handle every single job I will ever do my entire life! I used the specialty "spark plug" socket to remove my riding lawn mower spark plug with ease. I also removed my lug nuts with no problem what- so ever! The tools themselves look very durable and are all in working order. The "Hard plastic tool case" appeared very flimsy and low quality, ...

So easy to stay organized and find what you need!

Gone are the days of digging through bags or disorganized drawers in hopes of finding the tool that you need. This tool set has everything in an organized and labeled system. I love how the drawers pull out easy so that if you have different sizes that you need for the same project, you can easily take the whole drawer and save yourself some trips. Everything is labeled so there is no putting things away incorrectly. This is a space saving masterpiece.
