Purchased this plane and the #4 smoothing plane - Both planes are solid, high quality and worked well out of the box with minimal effort to set up. Highly recommend both planes!

Works really well once tuned up

First the good stuff. Ductile iron body with an 1/8" thick O1 blade. The bed of the plane is nice and flat, but still needed some work. Only took a couple of minutes to lap the sole and back of the iron (blade) truly flat. The O1 iron takes and holds a really fine edge. Once tuned the plane works extremely well. The bad stuff. Why would Lowe's sent out a used planer...

Luckily Jerry who represents Jorgensen fixed their mistake and showed the importance of how keeping their brand name intact. After Jerry's fantastic customer service I took a look at the block plane and I think for what you're paying you are getting way more value with this one. I have a great shop with Lie-Nielsen, Veritas, vintage Stanley and a variety of other tools. These Jorgensen planes are not as refined in fit and finish but functionally are every bit as good. I reach for them just as much - especially the 102. If you buy these, you will not be compromising.

Great little handheld tool!

This No 60-1/2 Adjustable Block Plane was great for shaving just a little bit of additional wood off of the bottom of our door without lobbing a whole chunk off with the saw! It was pretty effortless and we saved the shavings as firewood kindling!

Finally, a new, Sharp hand plane!

After a few years of using hand-me-down hand planes, with mixed results, I figured it was time for an upgrade. This meets my expectations. Blade is sharp, and easy to adjust.

Decent Block Plane

So, I saw this on the shelf at Lowe's and had been looking for a block plane that was less expensive than the fine woodworking brands, but better than the Kobalt-level brands. Very good block plane

This block plane is well made and solid. It’s sharp and adjustable, however it feels a little small in my hand. This is just a personal preference and should t deter you if you’re looking for a block plane.

Smooth your woodwork easily

I am building a house and am trying to be meticulous on my finishing. This heavy plane is perfect for smoothing edges of wood and taking it down a few layers to level. I found it super easy to adjust the angle snd size of the cutting amount. The holding knob and vontrols are easy to use and the weight of the plane with a little pressure from me does exactly the job I need!
