This did the trick although I have only used it a few times at this point. Probably best with a larger, more powerful drill. I have a smaller drill and it turned ME around.

I used this bit to install and anchor land scape timbers in a large project.Approximatley 2500 liner feet each timber was 8 ft long with anchor holes drilled through every 2 feet.rebar rods were hammered through the holes to keep them in place.Then a second timber was nailed to the top of each timber.This bit never dulled.and was used the next day to drill anchor holes in a deck railing.20ft long 12 feet wide.The bit is still sharp. IRWIN 5/8-in Woodboring Tri-Flute Drill Bit

I need to drill a hole through double headers in a tight spot. My spade bits were not doing the job (guessing I hit a knot), The Tri-Flute bit went right through with no problems,

Worked great. I used this for drilling holes in my lumber and using rebar to secure.

Tri-Flute Drill Bit

Very few 5/8' wood drill bits available but had to settle for a tri-flute bit. Would preferred a 3/8" shank instead 1/4" shank. Too much tear-out. Preferred a wood twist drill bit but the store did not have any in stock.

Makes a clean exit hole

This drill bit works well, at least it has through a job requiring four or five holes. It makes a cleaner exit hole than a spade bit, which is ciritical depending on the job. I don’t know how well it will hold up, but so far no complaints.

Bit provides accurate holes. Does not tear wood as others do.

Definitely a keeper!

I needed a 5/8" bit to bore through the side of a 1/2" thick walled, PVC septic tank riser and this bit did the trick! It was a little hard initially getting it to grab but with a little leverage it did just fine. 5/8" was one of the few bit sizes I didn't already have.

Hold Onto the Drill!

I was building six closet shelves using two closet hanger rods per shelf. The supports were 2x4s, which had me drilling two 1.25” holes per support. The standard paddle bit was about to catch fire trying. I bought THIS, and it DUG IN! Quick & highly effective!
