Good vise but needs to be mounted well

If you have the ability to attach good plywood faces to this vise and the moxie to attach it securely to a bench so that the top of the vise lines up with the working surface of the bench—-then you can maximize what this little puppy has to offer.

Good no frills vise

Product was stocked in the store and the price was very reasonable. Very pleased with the good construction of a basic wood working vise. Good value.

IRWIN 4-1/2-in Cast Iron Blue Woodworkers Vise

Well built and sturdy for basic woodworking. Added some inside hardwood pads and set it even with the top of the bench. Add a dog to a pad and one to the table and you are set to go for a decent hold. Price was right too.

Under $20

If you want a precision vise then go pay $100+ but if a little misalignment that doesn’t effect your woodworking experience is ok with you I’d recommend this $20 vise

Great value

I built a rolling work table. I wanted a vise like these on each end. I installed them today and I'm very impressed with them. I used 5/ 8" MDF for jaw pads. I really like Irwin products, they are good quality forcky a fair price. I was lucky to catch them for $16.98 on sale.

Tight squeeze

Small but works well for the size. Hubby installed on his work bench for those small wood projects when he sands and planes.

Extra hands

Pick this little wood vise up for my mobile work bench thinking I could mount it to my flush sided bench. I should have opened the box in the store prior to purchasing because the vise has a bottom mounting bracket for mounting to a board instead of a flush fit. I was able to use it on another bench, but had to buy another wood vise for my flush fit bench.
