Works as described for summer camp woodshop

Ordered several for our summer camp's woodshop program. Does what we need and doesn't damage kids' projects, unlike some other vises.

Wood Vise ~ IRWIN 6 1/2" cast iron woodworker

I needed a small vise I could hook up temporarily to my workbench I have inside the house. The vise has two holes so it can be bolted/screwed to the underside of a bench, and hang out over the lower edge. I bolted up a piece of leftover shelving I had which was about 2" wider than the vise is. This provided a place to use two small "C" clamps to temporarily attach to the underside of my bench via the shelving material attached to the vise. Another quality Irwin product. Just add your own wood to the jaws and mount. It's that easy. One of the best woodworking videos I've used. Its compact size was the perfect addition to my little workshop.

Well worth the price

Not the most professional vice, but certainly get the job done for small household projects. Price is a big factor!

It’s good for the money or price

For the money this is a great addition for a small part time shop. As far as face vices go it’s a small model, but it worked great for my sons work bench (he’s 10). But I used it for a few things and it did better then I thought it would. The worst limitation is the size and whatever your clamping needs to be bigger then the vice or centered or it has trouble.

Awesome product I didn't know I needed

I am in the process of building out a small woodshop in a shed I recently built. I started looking at vises to hold objects as I cut/modified them. I then realized that they make woodworking vises! This is very reasonably priced and has been a great investment so far. I love how it doesn't take up a lot of table space. My space is small and this tucks under a little bench I built.
