Low noise, massive airflow

I now have 4 of these fans in my house to help keep things cool. Their 70" diameter helps move a lot of air at lower RPMs, which means less noise at night while sleeping. I have one older model with a hard to install mounting bracket, but the last three have been updated and are far easy to hang. The 'fourth' speed on these is doesn't really move air, its more of an ambiance setting. Think bar on the beach while sipping your favorite beverage. Quality Product - Quality Store.

We bought the HUNTER Fan and after removing the old one and partially assembling the new one, I noticed a broken switch. Fearing a repack, I decided to call a closer LOWES than the one that we purchased the fan at. They said to bring the broken part in and they would trade it out.i don't usually brag about stores, but LOWES earned my respect and return business.

Good Looking Fan!

I just had the Castleton 70 inch fan installed last Saturday by Lowes. My ceiling is so high up (18 feet) I thought it would be better to let a professional installer to do it! All went very well without any problems. (Everything I read on line was not correct in relation to problems installing it) I stood close to the installer and watch everything he did and he did a great job! Big fan for 200 bucks

The only thing I didn't like about this fan was the fact that it had no remote(easy fix with another 30 bucks). But the directions tell you to remove the shipping blocks in the motor but there aren't any. I have put up 2 of these fans and neither one had them but you are told to remove them in the directions. Putting in the 2 screws where the cap hides the wires is a bit of a challenge, the twist and lock method is much easier...all in all good fan and looks great when it is up....... 70 inch......

This fan really puts out a breeze

The fan seems to be of good quality and put out a good stream of air. It wasn't too difficult to install, but the directions left something to be desired - especially the wiring directions. Fortunately, I've installed fans before. There is a small plastic part that fits between the light fixture and the glass globe that is shown in the wrong order of assembly. Other than that, it's a great ceiling fan for a large room.

Hunter Castleton 70" Fan

Needed a LARGE fan for my 20' x 15' great room. The room sits in the middle of an open concept floor plan which opens to a kitchen, breakfast nook, hallway, foyer and dining room, so in reality the fan needs to deal with a lot more square footage than just the 300 feet of the great room. In addition, the ceiling slopes from 9 to 15 feet with the fan mounted at the 12 foot point. This makes for a 17 degree angle. Great for the money

Have had for a year now and it works great, usually run on low as it moves air easily! Everyone compliments on this fan and wants to know the make and model. Overall was very easy to install and looks great.

Best ever

Best ceiling fan that I have ever purchased. The 70 inch size is well worth the money. A little harder to install. Takes about an hour. Great for medium to large rooms.

disappointed in our hunter fan...

We have owned several hunter fans and have been very satisfied. This one was a great disappointment.First of all it took almost two hours to put up then the speed of the fans are way to slow.We liked the fact that hunter fans didn't hum or make noise. This fan does.For the price it shouldn't. Needless to say we are taking it back after all the trouble my husband went through to get it up now he has to take it down!!

Got cheaper with time

I ordered this fan because I bought the same model last year for my living room. This time however, the mounting bracket is a much lower quality, the screws included are very cheap, and they no longer include the plastic shroud that hides the screws for the mounting plate cover.

Best value for a 70" fan

I tried a couple of other 70" fans before landing on this one. The other fans didn't move much air or had lots of problems with their remote controls. Hunter made a great product here it moves lots of air and is simple to use. The installation was simple and straight forward with great easy to follow instructions included

Not the quality I'd expect from Hunter

My husband purchased this fan today in hopes that we could replace our existing Hampton Bay ceiling fan with one that is quiet. We like the look of this fan just as much as the one we were replacing and expected that with the Hunter name we would get a good quality fan. Much to our disappointment, the fan did not work properly because the reverse switch was broken inside. It was in two pieces and not crimped properly during manufacturing. Not what I had hoped

The fan is a great value for the price. However, there are a few concerns I have. The quality left something to be desired. The blades were scratched around the edges and rough to the touch. The fan also is a little slow in it's rotation but seems to provide pretty good airflow in my really large great room so in that aspect was worthwhile. Another problem I have is with wobbling. I think it may be the globe which is causing it but after spending quite a bit of time putting it up I was in no moo...

Lots of air flow

The installation took some time. It wasn't hard to do, but it took around two hours to complete. Admittedly, this was my first ceiling fan installation, so it might take less time for someone a little more experienced. However, again it was easy to do just time consuming. The fan is quite and produces a lot of air flow. The lights were very bright until I put the dome cover on. The lights now give a soft glow. I will still need to use lamps in the room. 70" Cooling Sensation!!

We wanted to make a statement in our family room with a large fan. We previously had a 48" fan and the cooling was not that significant. We opted for the 70" and 9 can/recessed lights; so we omitted the light kit. It looks FANtastic. This fan really makes a statement and it cools very well. It's not a fan that turns very fast, like others that wobble, but it really does it job. Hunter makes an amazing product...buy it now! Beautiful fan... but not as windy as you'd think

Considering the fan is HUGE (70 inches), you'd think there would be gale force winds when it's set to the highest setting. Disappointingly, that is not the case. I tend to use the fan on the highest setting all the time. The lowest setting barely feels like it moves the air. Now, on the bright side, the quality of the fan is wonderful. Color and hardware look sturdy and quality.
