Would RecommendA little cumbersome to put together compared to Hampton Bay with the Quick connect fan blades but other than that, this fan is beautiful! Very very quiet and pushes a lot of air. I was a little disappointed that i did have to use the "balancing kit' that come with the fan because it initially had some shake but it only took one weight. I would definitely buy this fan again.

Assembly of the 70 in Castleton Ceiling Fan
Would Not RecommendThis fan was very difficult to assemble. There were 4 shipping screws that had to be removed in order to remove a plate. They were so tight that even with a helper we couldn't get them loose. Finally using a vice grip plyers, we got them out. Otherwise I would have had to take the fan down and take it back to the store. I also got a Harbor Breeze 70 inch fan which was much easier to assemble and it works great. The Castleton wobbles on high speed even though all blades and screws are as tights a...

Looks good but....
Would RecommendLooks nice in our family room and it is certainly large enough! It just doesn't not put out as much air as we had hoped. We bought a large fan because we wanted good air circulation and it is just ok. You won't blow any papers off the table for sure.

What I Saw Is Not What I Got
Would Not RecommendWith blades looking like the blades of a Chanute helicopter I thought I would get moe than a fair amount of air displacement to cool the desired area. Instead I usually don't even realize it's on. I bought the fan about a year ago when it was over $200 with tax and now the fan barely spins 50 rpm on HIGH speed. On low speed you can follow a blade with your eyes and count the rpms. It is a disaster and should be taken off the market. Don't let it's looks fool you. The 13" blade fans we have give...
Great Product
Would RecommendI was looking for a "Larger" ceiling fan since I built a new, larger home. Unfortunately, there are not too many "Larger" ceiling fans out there to choose from. I found this 70-in fan at Lowes for a very decent price and decided to try it. I love it ~ It is the perfect size and it is made by Hunter which I find is one of the best brands out there, so you can't go wrong. A perfect fit for me. :-)

Great product!!!
Would RecommendLove this fan!!! Puts out some great air. We added a remote when the fan was installed and love being able to change the fan speed and turn the light off and on from our chairs. We have cathedral ceilings and the fan is perfect!!! Works perfectly and looks very stylish!!!

Smooth, quiet fan
Would RecommendBought this fan because of looks and size (our living room has a 12ft vaulted ceiling), and was not let down. It's huge! Also completely quiet and smooth while running. One installation tip - loosen screws for bottom shipping ring where the blades attach BEFORE hanging the fan. The instructions don't mention it until it's hung, and by then you have no leverage to loosen them. Overall we're very pleased with this product!

70-in Castleton Northern Sienna Ceiling Fan with L
Would RecommendI love my fan. It looks perfect in the room. The only problem I have is that the light fixture will not stay flush. I have very high ceilings and about once a week have to get the ladder out to straighten up the fixture. It is a beautiful set but this problem is aggrevating.

A tad heavy.
Would RecommendThis is a heavy fan. Requires mounting to a wood cross beam over the ceiling fixture junction box. get help to install due to the weight but installs easily. Pushes a lot of air and runs very very quiet.

Large fan at a great price
Would RecommendI have one mounted in my family room and it does a real good job of circulating both cool and warm air in fact, it is rarely ever shut off. This fan was mounted in our master bedroom, again this fan is used both summer and winter. It is quiet at all speeds and moves a lot of air on high speed (my favorite setting). This fan was on sale over the Memorial Day weekend plus Lowes Military discount made this an outstanding buy for what I believe is an outstanding product. The included light is real d...

Looks nice but poor design
Would Not RecommendThe installation was not bad. It probably took about 3 hours. The fan is very attractive. As to not moving air well, I know some reviewers said it shouldn't be expected to move a lot of air but the Materials in the store indicated it was one of the best air movers and the box says it is rated for 7740 cubic feet per min which is much more air movement than the smaller fans that multiple people have noted are actually moving air better than this one. Now my real problems with the fan. In severa...
Slow & loud
Would Not RecommendThis fan does not spin very fast when compared to other ceiling fans. Less airflow than smaller fans in our house. It also makes a humming noise when turned on. It doesn't matter at what speed setting. You can't adjust the speed of the fan without taking the light cover off. It has a hole for the chain, but it is in a bind with the factory light kit. Very disappointed with the noise level of the fan.
Hunter 70 inch Castleton Fan with Light Kit
Would RecommendI purchased this fan this weekend from my local Lowe's this weekend and I have to say it has been a good fan for the large room we have...I highly recommend this fan and you know if it is Hunter it is a quality fan!
Big is NOT always better
Would Not RecommendMy husband and I got this fan and could not wait to put it up and replace our 52 inch fan that quit working. We have a great room with 18 ft. ceilings. We did buy the 5 ft. extension. After getting it up and turning it on we thought it would be more airflow with less movement. NOT SO. It is the same as our 52 inch fan. Looks like its missing one more faster speed. Too much of a pain to take down...so we are dealing with it.
Great fan at a great price
Would RecommendFirst off, if you're looking for a fan that is going to push out a ton of air, then you shouldn't just be looking for a large fan (larger blades i.e. 70" doesn't mean more air flow). Strong motor = strong air-flow (also = much more $$$ than $199.00). This fan produces about the same amount of air flow as does a similar model in 52". Looks great in a larger room and works perfectly.
Pretty but inefficient
Would Not RecommendThis fan looks wonderful if you have a large room. However, the air output is very minimal. I had it installed and was terribly disappointed by the efficiency. Would have it take down if it weren't in a cathedral ceiling.

Nice features, works beautifully.
Would RecommendVery nice fan with sturdy construction and nice, understated features. Works flawlessly.
Disappointing From Hunter
Would Not RecommendWe bought this fan expecting a LOT of airflow, given that it's a 70" fan. Not so! On High the fan pushes no more air than the average 52" fan. The problem appears to be the fact that the blades turn comparatively slow compared to other fans. I put it up one day, slept under it one night (hot I might add) and took it down the next and returned it to Lowe's. I also noticed that the motor got extremely hot, even when the fan was on high. I discovered it while I was taking it down. The fan had been ...
