NOT GOOD FOR CERTAIN APPLICATIONS

If your are looking to install receptacle outlets under motorized reclining chairs or sofas, check the male plug on the device cord to make sure the line transformer is not part of the plug. This type of line cannot be inserted into a recessed outlet such as this. A flat surface outlet is necessary.

Best floor outlet option out there

Excellent choice for a great room...the recessed outlets prevent the usual tripping over the plug challenge of floor outlets. Our electrician really liked this option we provided him and has made it a standard going forward.

the unsolvable puzzle

I installed the floor cans in a fresh floor pour, cans not a 1/2" above the pour, trimmed flush with tiled floor, the outlet box is too deep to fit a recessed outlet and 2 other very important issues 1. Worlds worst diagram and instruction, fuzzy and worthless like in was drawn in the 60's and oh well good enough. 2.Kind of forgot to mention the needed adapter plates.

Excellent product even for the DIYer

Quick and to the point. The product is VERY well made, the instructions are very clear, and I am very happy with the amount of effort needed to open the top latch. Electrical Floor Plug Box

Great idea, but box and cover plate was too large for existing floor plug box.

Not suited to my need

Was seeking a round cover plate ONLY to replace a broken existing cover. Lowe's does not sell covers separate from the entire kit. Salesperson on the aisle was very patient, looked at photos provided of current installation and tried to find closest possible match. However, he missed my mention that the existing can is installed in concrete subfloor -- this unit is meant for wood-floor installation only. Good appearance, but had to return item.

Very hard to open

This is in a high traffic area so the strength of it is excellent. My biggest issue is that there isn't an easy way to open the hatch. You have to "open or remove" the rubber entry port in order to open the door then slide the rubber back into place. We do not have something constantly plugged in so it can be a little bit of a hassle especially since the door is very hard to open - I do not know if this is just because it is new or it will always remain hard to open. Cannot use on floating floors

it needs to be screwed directly into the subsurface. which will not compensate for the edge distance tolerance required for floating floors

Great design

This floor outlet is designed so that other than the height of the plate itself, only the wires (not the plugs themselves) protrude above the floor height. If the outlet is to be located under a piece of furniture, the clearance doesn't have to be very much for it to work. Also, it seals well with the floor, especially good if you're installing over an unheated crawl space.

15-Amp Nickel Decorator Duplex Outlet

I bought this as a replacement for an old plastic floor mount, therefore, I had some difficulty with the installation. The instructions were designed for a construction installation. It could have taken into consideration a replacement installation. The design could use some flexibility for a replacement install like a variable depth consideration.

Poor Design

Installed as directed, the flange that attaches the electrical box to the floor interfer with the cover lying flat. Might not be as big of a problem on a plush carpet but on hardwood, it is unworkable. I had to use a ceiling fan bracket with another box to make it work. Fortunately I had plenty of access from below. If that wasn't the case, I would have had a hole in the floor!

Completely as Expected

I needed this to have a light on a table in the middle of my living room. Worked out great even had the inside electrical parts included for the price. Also the nickel is the way to go instead of the old bronze/gold.

Product is a heavy duty and looks great after install. Bigger plugs donot fit under cover and has to be pushed on to get plug cover to close. Nice item, I would purchase again

Floor Duplex Receptacle

With some electrical knowledge and following the easy to understand direction, you can install a beautiful looking very well constructed receptacle anywhere in a floor. I did a insulation over a crawl space and after shutting off the electrical power I wired into a existing wall receptacle . The lid locked down and the plug is below the floor. Well worth the money and looks great.

Excellent Quality! Modern look too!!!

All other products I found were dated looking. I did not want gold or brass. The stainless steel color was exactly what I was looking for. Ruber tabs for cords are great too.
