New Design with Upgraded Features

The new GE Profile 36-Inch Induction Cooktop is much improved over the 2011 version which I accidentally damaged. The new version looks better with stainless edging top and bottom and has better controls for precise temperature control. Also, the two “burners” on the left can be synced to accommodate an oblong roasting pan or a griddle. Can’t wait to start cooking. Thanks, GE.

Spyware

Bought this along with a number of other GE Profile kitchen appliances. Requires wifi connection opening you up to having your network hacked and all your information leaked online. I refuse to have any appliance that is glorified spyware in my home. Will be cancelling the order.

Looks very sleek in our kitchen.

So far so good. Just installed today. Very excited to cook on this induction! We had 5 people watching today to see how long it takes to boil water! So fun!

Not as good as my old one!

Not as fast as my old one. Controls aren’t as responsive as they should be. Liked my old one much better. Unfortunately it died after only 10 years.

Too much noise

I purchased this base on my friend's recommendation. we installed it 2 weeks ago. I am hearing very loud noise when I start the cooktop. The noise will increase over the time (which is supposed to be reduced once the pan is heated). I have asked my friends to come and check who are using the same cooktop. They are not seeing the loud noise in their cooktops. I have called the GE Profile customer service and they came today. They said they can't do anything about the noise. They can only repair ...

Great so far

We got this a week ago and so far it is perfect. Controls are intuitive and the cooktop simmers (you’d be surprised how many don’t) and is very responsive.

Fast!

I have only had for a few days but so far ecstatic. I have had to endure an electric stovetop for three years. I think I might like this better than gas!

Canning

It takes a little getting used to it. I do canning and it takes a time or two to get used to the temperature adjustments needed. Love it.

Many features

I love this cooktop. So many features. It turns off if no pot is present. It has a built in timer right by the controls. Just to name a few.

Different Than Methane But Well Worth Adjusting To

Yes, it's different than cooking with methane, but easily adjusted to and well worth it for the cleaner household air. We installed a hybrid heat pump water heater at the same time and hope to replace a methane burning radiant HVAC boiler sooner rather than later (we just spruced up our basement and can smell methane near where we play darts even though all the fittings are properly maintained). You also have to adjust to not plopping stuff on the cooktop as if it were extra counter space. And ...

Love It

Looks great, easy to figure out (it’s my first induction cooktop), and clean up is a breeze. Almost bought a gas cooktop as that’s what I’m used to but glad I made the switch.

Easy upgrade of cooktop to induction. Good product

Our primary reason for upgrading to a GE Profile 30" induction cooktop was that the footprint was identical to the previous GE Profile 30" electric cooktop we were replacing. Updates a kitchen and brings joy back to cooking.

Beautiful design, easy to operate, no heat like my old gas cooktop. Why did I not do this when it first came out? I am an interior designer and will recommend this GE induction to all my clients who are building a new home or remodeling.

THIS COOKTOP IS FAST

GE Profile induction cooktop we bought replaced an existing gas cooktop in our new home. Cooktop looks great and works very well - boils a pot of water in under a minute! Controls are intuitive and very easy to use. Surface is also easy to clean. Highly recommend so far. Longevity remains to be seen, but we have been very happy with our other GE appliances like our French door refrigerator, over the counter microwave and freezer.

Convection cooktop

I've only had it for a few weeks, but so far very pleased with the cooktop. I am very glad to get gas out of my kitchen.
