Learning to use induction

Bought induction due to environmental concerns about gas. Technology allows quick heating response. We had to replace our non-magnetic material cookware. Also have concerns about two of the burners not staying energized when activated. Could be an issue with the percentage of iron in the pans. Keeping the glass surface clean and unscratched requires careful cleaning each time. GE Profile was significantly cheaper than Bosch. Hope we made the right choice.

Piece of junk

Worked only three days then stopped working. Tried return in, but Lowes refused, said I should use GE warranty. So just buy piece of junk and can't receive my money back. Design is also terrible, in fact you can't use all 4 burners, just not enough space. You can use only 1 large and 3 small bowls in the same time. Or only two medium bowls. Don't won't work with many bowls for induction. Not recommended at all. It's not my first induction cooktop, but the worst.

We love the GE induction cooktop! The instant on heat provides much quicker cooking than our previous standard electric cooktop.

Adjusting from gas to induction.

Cooktop doesn’t seem to heat up as quickly as expected, & the largest burner isn’t adept at adjusting to the slightly differing sizes of pans. Appreciate being easier to clean cooktop surface over previous gas cooktop.

Super quick heat, easy to see controls, easy install.

Easy to use control, precise cooking, easy cleanup

Cooking times are faster and more precise than my radiant cooktop. I like the temperature controls in that you can jump top high or lo or swipe to change the temperature. The feedback sounds from the cooktop are nice. The timer is very nice. Easier cleanup than with radiant as spills are not cooked on. Works great! New tech so is a learning process. Buyer needs to be aware of need for upgraded power & different cookware.

Not 30” as listed

It’s listed as a 30” but it’s actually 29.75. If the opening in the counter is cut exactly 30” you will have a 1/8” gap on both sides!!! Not correct advertisement!!!

Doesn’t work/HORRIBLE Customer Service

Purchased to replace older model. Doesn’t work. Waited on hold for an hour and never got to speak an agent. Website was of no help either. Returning and buying a different brand.

Happy with the switch from gas to induction

We had a gas cooktop and decided to change to induction. We verified that there was compatible amperage and circuit breaker but we needed to make additional cuts in our granite (things you need to verify before ordering and installing). I already had compatible cookware so I only needed to purchase a few non-stick skillets. It is easy to use and boils water rapidly. fast, safe cooking

This was easy for me, a non-handyman, to install myself. It fit perfectly into the hole that my old GE gas cooktop used. I needed an electrician to run a new line, but otherwise it was a snap. I have a Viking induction range in my other home (this is a vacation home) and really recommend induction over gas 100%. Works Great. Looks good.

Replaced an older induction cooktop. It fit right into the existing cutout on the counter. Used the same 40 amp electrical circuit. So, installation was easy. This unit seems to heat even faster than the old one. The controls are easy to use and understand. Should last a long time.

So much better than radiant electric cooktop.

Haven't had a chance to use the cooktop much (that's why I withheld the fifth star in my rating) but the cooktop looks sleek, water boils incredibly fast, and I love the bridge element for use with a cast iron griddle. I wasn't aware that there is a minimum size pan for use on each burner. When the installers first tested the unit, I gave them a small saucepan which didn't work on any of the burners. It's not really an issue now that I'm aware but it did cause some concern when the installers...

Great replacement for my gas cooktop. Easy to install, heats up quickly and easy to operate.
