Great for home projects

Wonderful customer service! Compactor had broken handle in box, called company and a real person answered, listened to issue and immediately shipped out replacement! Not many companies have personal service like this any more ( no phone trees, AI, texting, computer chats, long holds)! Also, very pleased with the compactor's performance tamping crushed stone to prep for shed placement.

It is light enough to carry

Workhorse of a Compactor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This compactor was exactly what I needed to make simple work out of my backyard flagstone project. It worked great and performed just as I had hoped. Would highly recommend it to any DYI person. Lightweight and easy to operate. Assembly was straightforward and took me about 20 minutes. Extremely pleased with the purchase.

Would be nice if I got it

Lowes sent only the pad, not the whole machine, unless there is missing boxes. The fed ex guy signed for me and used his phone number so I can't even talk to fed ex.

Great Machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this compactor to settle polymeric sand into the joints on my pavers. I rented a heavy gas powered compactor to compact the gravel below the pavers, but that machine was so heavy and hard to control direction, that I thought it may crack some pavers. This machine was perfect for working the polymeric sand, and didn't crack a single paver. I would highly recommend this electric compactor for vibrating paver sand

Great compactor

Perfect for my job.

This is a great little machine. I’ve used it to put in a brick patio and pathways, where its weight and size are perfect. The price was fair and the shipment speedy. I definitely recommend this.

Great Machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After reading the reviews on this machine I have to say was seckpical on its performance being so much lighter and electric. But after using it my doubt fastly disappeared. For an electric version it surpassed my expectations. Only thing left to prove is duration. Time will tell. One thing for sure is maintenance will be muchly reduced.

Works great for size, check size of project though

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing works great for how big it is. It's truly a beast. That being said I was using it to install a 16'x16' paver patio. The AB3 i got was garbage and had really big rocks (3 inches sometimes). This compactor couldn't handle that big of rocks. Anything smaller than about 2 inches it seems to work fine, you will just have to compact it at maybe 3/4" at a time (with the bigger gas powered ones you can compact at 2" at a time).

Get Gas Powered

There is nothing particularly wrong with this unit. The bushings where the handle meets the main unit are wearing out after just a couple of uses. If I was within my return window it would have went back. I am doing a 15x12 patio and I just don't think this is powerful enough to get good enough compaction.

Nice for lite work

It's a little lite for anything like a driveway, but worked really well for compacting under my above ground pool. You can cover wet base with 6mil plastic to keep things from sticking to the plate, or to prevent making little "rails" on the sides.

Excellent Tool

Works Great !

I did an eleven by forty driveway, four tons of crush run, No issues . It took me less than an hour to go over it twice. I won't need it to maintain it . I probably will sell it, Is very quiet and very easy to start, No rope pulling. It would be great for smal paving jobs and Other small jobs. It has a thirty five foot chord. If rock is big and dry it will just bounce. I had and no section of driveway with the big stone and it doesn't do anything for that.

Purchased the electric plate compactor to whack down type 1 sub base for a grid foundation for our new garden shed. It is a compact but powerful unit that worked very well and will be used for our planned new garden paths and a log cabin base, next Spring, with no more hassle trying to hire the kit any more.
