What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the rustic aesthetic and affordability, with many loving the natural imperfections and final stained or painted appearance. However, significant quality control issues dominate feedback—reviewers report widespread damage including broken tongues, splits, and warped edges, with many stating only 1-3 usable planks per six-pack. High waste rates of 20-50% force customers to purchase substantially more material than planned. Despite these frustrations, most find the lightweight, easy installation and low cost worthwhile for achieving an attractive rustic look, though careful board selection is essential.

Would RecommendThe product was a good price and work awesome for what I used it for. I covered my living room ceiling and it turned out great. I wanted a rustic look so by some of the boards not being perfect worked great.

Great Product!
Would RecommendPut a slight coat of stain on these and paneled in our great room ceiling. Finish looks great! Did a 20' x 32' ceiling with pitch and it took about 50 packages of the paneling. Some boards were not completely usable for the whole 8' as they were damaged on the end or split, but overall they were a great product.

Groves pine planks
Would RecommendUsed these on my walls and ceiling. Couldn't be happier on how they turned out.

Questionable
Would Not RecommendIt's very difficult to find boards without serious flaws. Plus it's quite common for the grooved edges to collapse. This is seriously light, weak wood.

Good enough for what I used it for.
Would RecommendBe carful when selecting packages of this wood. About half the stock will have damage from shipping. Otherwise, it’s good for a variety of projects. I covered my entire ceiling with this stuff after sanding and staining each panel.

Easy to use
Would RecommendWe put up some wains cot and found these 8 ft lengths. We decided to redo the walls in another room to a more rustic look a couple of years ago. These fit the bill very well. It is easy to use with a tongue and groove system so they blend together seamlessly. They are thin but as long as you do not bounce yourself off the walls, you will be fine. This purchase last week was to replace some planks that got water damage from a leaking swamp cooler. This purchase blended right in.

Looks good
Would RecommendI brought this home and took out of packaging, stacked up against walls loosely for 48 hours to acclimate to my home. I stained them using minwax golden pecan wood stain ( do this before putting on walls because if you do after putting up the boards it’s a pain trying to stain perfectly in the cracks between boards). I nailed them to the walls using a brad nail gun and 2 in 18 gauge brads. I started at bottom near floor with tongue facing up, laying them horizontally. There were some cracked bo...

I love the look and feel of it, but there were a lot of damaged boards in each package. Out of the 5 packages that I bought well over half of the boards were damaged. Some you could still make work, but some you could only cut the bad sections out.

Beautiful Finish
Would RecommendWe installed this on all the walls of our cabin in the woods with construction adhesive and a pin nailer (.23 guage). It went up easily and while there is some waste, it is inexpensive enough that it works. We then applied two coats of latex clear sealer and, after several years it still looks well. We highly recommend it.

Kitchen Ceiling- NO more popcorn ceiling!
Would RecommendBought this, and treated/stained/sealed with a white-wash finish. Installed the thinnest plywood over our entire ceiling (most of our house- the studs aren't standard), so we could screw them in along stud lines. This allowed us to install these strips easily, with a line of liquid nails and some finishing pneumatic nails. Occasionally, we'd find some strips that were incredibly warped and we saved those till the end (hoping we either wouldn't have to use them, or that we'd be able to cut them ...

Great product
Would RecommendI buy this product to use in my business and a couple area stores don’t carry it. I hope the other stores will carry it and no other stores discontinue it.

Get Ready for a lot of waste product
Would RecommendI've bought over 40 packages of this material to use as horizontal wall covering in a log cabin home that I am remodeling. If you need a clean 8' piece, you'll get about 4 useable pieces on average out of each package. That works out to a 33% waste factor. I used the defective pieces for the shorter cuts but after nearing completion of my project, I had about a 20%-25% final waste of material. This stuff is really junk lumber, but it did look nice once stained and varnished. Just plan for a LOT ...
