Would RecommendI normally use a different brand until I saw that Elmers wood glue is stainable. This really helps when gluing up boards that are to be stained because you don't have to keep wiping the glue of the corners or sand because the glue is stainable. It also has a better color than the yellow glues for when you are clear sealing.

slow setting wood glue
Would Recommendwe had many pieces to glue at one time.....put them altogether and clamp the works. the time from start to clamps was about 20 minutes and we were able to clamp and have glued joints creep into place just like we wanted. The final set is strong. Excellent results.

Kinda stainable
Would RecommendThis glue will hold some stain which is good, strength and workability are par with TB brand. I plan to pay the extra for the semi stainability of this product in the future

Fantastic Holding Power
Would RecommendUse product to hold rocks to blocks of wood. When cutting rocks for lapidary work I need a product that will stand up to the saws and oil used to cool and lubricate the rock cutting blades. This product holds from start to finish. Will continue to use this product till something better is developed.

Very strong bond
Would RecommendI use Elmer's Woodglue Max exclusively for all my projects. I mostly make cabinets, bookshelves, etc. for myself and other family. I use a Kreg pocket hole jig for most joints, along with this glue. I have never had a piece break at a glued and screwed joint. The joint ends up being stronger than any other part of the wood. I have recommended this glue to others that have asked about a waterproof, stainable glue. Cleanup of any excess squeeze out is easy if you get to it quickly with a wet cloth...

Makes me feel young again
Would RecommendI went with Elmers glue because my mom still has things I made using Elmers glue and construction paper in kindergarten. I figure, if Elmers glue can hold together pieces of construction paper for close to 30 years their WoodGlue Max will probably work. Aside from the brown tint of the glue and on the label, the logo and orange tip reminded me of my youth. Not sure if their wood glue is safe to eat like their School Glue is...haven't had any cravings or an appetite for glue recently. What can I ...

NOT WATERPROOF
Would Not RecommendAfter drying for several days, my current wood project was exposed to a light rain after which the glue which had earlier dried clear, became white and softened. Because of that, the entire project could be a disaster. The glue is definitely not waterproof as clearly stated on the label and for that reason, is a big disappointment. I have used other brands of water cleanup white glues without such issues.

Holds well and takes a stain well.
Would RecommendI use this when assembling wood projects, such as furniture. This glue sets up in a reasonable time, holds well, and actually takes a stain. When I need a wood glue, this has become my "go to" product.

Not useful for quality projects
Would Not RecommendI had to return this product, it contains saw dist particles that cause the glue joint to be think and totally unacceptable for any high quality project, might be fine for sloppy work or rough cut wood.
