A great remote controlled and monitored thermostat

You can’t go wrong investing in this thermostat. Our power company provides a hefty rebate on purchase price. If you connect this to your internet WiFi, you can check on the temperature while on vacation. Ecobee provides energy report too! Great product

Simple and works like a cham

Great thermostat. I chose this one as I think some of the advance features are overkilling it. I am still trying to understand some of the menu items - it's not as user friendly as the Nest. Also I haven't been able to figure out how to change the language of the interface - it only displays in English,

Temp reading off??

The ecobee essential, i have 2, seem to show the room temp incorrectly?!? Always off by 1-2 degrees? Why is that?

Right Mix of Features and Settings

Call me old fashioned but I like simple and easy to operate thermostats. When looking for a wifi thermostat, I tried many finally ending with the Ecobee Essential. It is the perfect mix of simple operating features, easy to install and set up, and settings that allow additional control of the AC and Heat if needed. If you don't need all the extra features of the higher units, this is the perfect choice.

I have a dead spot in my house where the thermostat is installed, so the HVAC was on for way more than it needed to be. I installed the Ecobee with one remote sensor that I placed in a bedroom. Then I set up my comfort settings so that the main thermostat wasn't considered. This allowed the remote sensor to control the HVAC, and it worked like a charm to keep the house at the temperature I want without over using the HVAC. Easy to use

I’ve had this product for a couple of weeks. Easy to use is basic mode. Although it allows you to program daily changes I prefer to change the temperature in real time. I prefer to do it using the iPhone app which works fine.

Convenience guru

I love how this product allows me to remotely turn it on and off. That’s very helpful for people who have children in the home

Easy Installation, Easy Setup, Easy Everything!

We purchased our ecobee Essential because we recently had a new HVAC unit installed downstairs (we have two units), it included an ecobee 3 Lite, and we wanted one for our existing upstairs unit as well. I installed the Essential myself, and it was very easy to install. Ecobee does all I need it to do.

It was installed by an HVAC contractor. It works great and allows me to easily adjust the temperature. I like the automatic "setting at x degrees until 6:30 am or 11:30 pm". Great feature.

Wrong information

I went to Lowe’s looking for a smart thermostat using a Golden State Rebate. According the Lowe’s webpage and customer service staff member this Ecobee was a perfect fit. Ordered it and paid the rest of the amount since the rebate only covers a portion, but it wasn’t compatible with my system when I tried to install it. Amazing!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve never owned anything like this before till now. It is seriously the best smart thermostat and was super easy to install. I love that I can set a temperature schedule and have access to it while I’m away from home. It has cut our electric bill in half!

Smart Thermostat That’s Actually Easy to Use.

I’ve used the Sensi and Nest Learning (3rd Gen) thermostats before, but the Ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential is by far the easiest to operate—both through the app and the on-screen touch controls. It was also super easy to integrate with HomeKit. Simple, reliable, and user-friendly!

Simple but effective

I changed over from another popular thermostat brand that is sold by a major internet search engine company.
