Nice thermostat!

Fairly easy to install, but be sure to buy the thermostat cover plate if you have ANY doubts about the thermostat thermostat not exactly fitting over the old one's profile on the wall. Very glad I purchased them together, as the new combination is perfect.

Missing feature

Lacking the ability to set the system mode per a daily schedule

Ecobee Smart Thermostat Essential

I bought this product because my thermostat was located in direct sunlight, causing false temperature for the rest of the house. I installed with a sensor in my living room. Installation and instructions were clear and simple to follow.

Don't do it

Smart thermostats are a waste of time and energy. For minimal benefit (savings is nonsense), you get to control it with your phone. That's about it. In return, you'll restart it monthly (I have 2) for no reason, it will randomly disconnect from your wi-fi, your sensors will loose connections, again randomly, and their batteries will need to be changed 3-4 times a year. All the low level settings I wanted

This thermostat has a very rich set of options in its installation menu. The ones I used were: Temperature on/off threshold Minimum run time Extended fan run time after furnace/AC shuts off It also lets you set as many schedules as you want in a given day as long as they are 30 minutes long. It does a great job of allowing you to decide if you want to use the automatic features or disable them and set it up the way you want.

Installation has typically been easy.

I like the product. I have used Ecobee in other homes and it worked great. I was having trouble with another manufacturers wireless thermostat so thought I'd try this one, but was able to get my current one working. Will definitely go to Ecobee if this one stops again.

The ecobee thermostat that I bought wasn’t new. It was a used model. I found out when I opened the box installed it anyway doesn’t work. Call a technician to fix it. Cost me 95 bucks. Nothing works.
