Easy to use, and install

I have had the thermostat for years, I just added the door mount and love them. One door was a breeze, the other a little bit more challenging because of the distance. But the system is wonderful

Pretty Terrible

Initial camera came defective. Ecobee support promptly shipped out another. Got it setup and it works great, when it works. Live view is frequently unable to load in spite of wifi signal being strong according to the device. Due to it's unreliability I recommend buying another brand

Very easy to setup and notification work well. I have been using on garage door as it seems it magically opens and 8 need to know if it is open or closed. I had to design and 3d print brackets as the rails and door are not flat.

Security features do not work without Internet

Easy setup, major flaw: This 'security' system is useless without internet. If your connection drops (e.g., cut cable, router failure), all features, including the thermostat alarm, fail. Our house was unsecured for 48 hours over Thanksgiving when our internet went down. This critical vulnerability is not disclosed in the product information.

So Far So Good!

I use the thermostat and doorbell cameras, and they work great! The doorbells were very easy to install, but I let my heating guy connect the thermostat (I had old wiring that needed to be replaced). Next up I think I'll be getting motion detectors.

Mediocre at Best

The camera is ok in the daylight and with lights on. If you want to use it at night, forget about it. Unlike the doorbell cam (which works really well at night) this one just doesn't work. It's just dark, all the time. The orientation is also terrible. If mount it on the ceiling, there is no option to flip the orientation of the camera. Overall, a very poor design and would not recommend.

One outstanding product

I was skeptical about the connectivity of this camera at first. I had a bad experience with eve cameras dispite its good reputation. I am a ecobee purchaser for now.

T-Stat is good and works fine, door sensors ($$$$)

I’ve been an Ecobee user since before 2019. I didn't get to join the pilot program for the Switch+, but I bought one as soon as it was released. Unfortunately, a lightning strike took it out. I replaced it with another one, and once again, after a small lightning spark, it went haywire. I had to remove it from the wall and reinstall it (which the average user probably shouldn't be doing — YouTube helped, and yes, I turned the breaker off). Good product, but

The idea of having the having Ac hold if doors are open is great and unique and you could get more customers if you’re taking off the subscription fees and you would still make good profit since your sensors are expensive compare to the other brands

Super simple and easy to install and use.

I installed a few sensors on our exterior doors to satisfy my wife who is gone alone most days. The installation and setup was super fast and super simple. Using the app is probably even more simple. If a door opens we know right away. As an added bonus, if a door is open for a short period of time while the AC is on the system automatically shuts down the AC until the door is closed. Very smart.

Had a nest for several years then it went to a new owner who ruined it all, doesn’t work,Google Home is more trouble, and I wouldn’t have it back if it was FREE. WE LUV our Ecobee system easy to install,multi-users too, and it works flawlessly. I would highly recommend anyone to try a great system that really works as advertised.

Subscription required to put your A/C in hold

Subscription required to put your A/C in hold. But wait here’s the fun part… your system will still turn on in hold the whole time. So much for savings. My unit was still kicking on, on a day that was nice and I trusted the sensors putting my unit in hold. Thinking it means not to turn on. Thankfully it wasn’t much but these sensors are a complete waste. Hold apparently still means your system runs I guess. Make the sensor turn the unit OFF not in hold if it’s still going to run! Subscription Required

After buying these sensors, I discovered that the only way to use them as advertised is to pay for a subscription. Incredibly misleading advertising that has soured my opinion of Ecobee.

These Work fine, until you want to use them with your EcoBee thermostat to automatically shutoff heating/cooling if doors are open, some how this is tied to their “security” subscriptions even though this should all be happening locally in your home without any dependency on the Ecobee cloud services. Just another company basing their entire business model on subscriptions.

I changed from the Nest thermostat that I had for years because I was starting having issues with the thermostat from the WiFi ,to the schedule and Google moving everything to the Google Home app so I gave The Ecobee a try and I am glad I did it has working perfectly during the cold weather that we had. I was able to install it easily in 20 minutes even before the house got cold.

Waste of money

These door and window sensors are a waste of money currently. You can’t change the alert sound made when a door is opened even with the ecobee Alexa. I would not recommend until an update is out.

I had no trouble setting these up! I even ordered 2 more boxes & they are all up & working just fine.
