Ratings & Reviews for DuroMax HX 210cc Electric Start Camping and RV Ready 5500 Starting / 4500 Running Watt Gas and Propane Dual fuel Portable Generator

Great generator

Bought this as backup power for my camper. Great buy

XP5500HX

Great looking generator, has all the features I’m looking for. I’ll know more once I run it for awhile.

Just got it

Just what I was looking for my new transfer switch and had the 30amp plug

Minor assembly issues

I had read in prior reviews, the box did not include a sufficient number of washers (4) for the wheel assemblies. This was correct for me as well, as my box only contained two washers. I had to fabricate two more washers from fender washers I had in stock, as a standard width washer is too thick. When assembled at the factory, a bolt on the battery cover was cross threaded and I had to deal with this issue. The battery that came with my generator is designed to be connected on the side of t...

Reliable Dual Fuel Powerhouse with Quality Enginee

I purchased the DuroMax 5,500-Watt Dual Fuel Generator earlier this year, and I’ve been very impressed with its performance and build quality. The 212cc R210N-V engine runs smooth and steady, whether on gasoline or propane. It started right up out of the box, and the setup was straightforward thanks to the clear labeling and documentation. The ability to switch between gas and LPG is a huge advantage — propane burns cleaner and stores longer, while gasoline gives me the full wattage when need...

Questionable Quality

Generator shot sparks out the cover in the first 5 minutes of operation. The cover had been hit before being packaged, and the cable insulator and wiring was damaged. Duromax is pointing me to Lowes for a return, but Lowes has a 48 hour return period for generators. I would have thought the Warranty period started the minute the generator was assembled and started, but apparently I'll have to fight for it.

Liked it So Much, Bought Another

I actually bought this back in July of this year. Reason is because someone walked right up to my back door, and stole it. Filed a police report, but they didn't do anything to search the area pawn shops. I the first one, duel fuel 4400, the year before. Good thing I did. We were hit with two hurricanes back to back. My husband ended up in the hospital so I was here alone. Never having run one myself before, it was pretty easy to understand. Thank God for the duel fuel. We were without power ...

Great features … like the dual fuel feature

Have had 2 years .. used once during power outage and works well for what I bought it for .. powers well pump and most items in kitchen and bathroom..I keep a trickle charger on it to keep it charged

You can’t beat it!!

It has been a great addition to my home. Always reliable. Easy to hook up. The dual fuel is a game changer. I highly recommend this generator.

You still have to physically go to generator even

Remote start doesn't work as expected

Best price for your buck

I was looking for a good generator to use for my inflatable business. I found this so far it’s been great for us.

On and off works

I’ve hosted hundreds of events and 75% of those events have had issues. It does not hold the power that it says it is the brand that is a problem because I’ve had two of them with the same problem. It has a warranty, but the duromax people don’t help. It just shuts off all the time even whilst running a few items.

Great Generator

Found tools about half way thru assembly. Put it together in about 30 minutes, Wheels, supports and remove support bracket. Using propane option, started on second try plugged in A/C Unit in window and it started cooling right away I could tell the generator kicke a little bit but went right back to normal.

Shape unit easy to assemble claer instructions

Great little unit now I'm ready for Mother Nature and whatever she sends
