Ratings & Reviews for DuroMax HX 210cc Electric Start Camping and RV Ready 5500 Starting / 4500 Running Watt Dual fuel Portable Generator

Strong and reliable

Full disclosure I have ONLY run this off of propane. Gas has never been used. I really wanted a dual-fuel so I could run off of propane instead of gas. I wanted something cleaner and quieter than gas, and I was DONE draining out old gas, cleaning carbs, carrying smelly gas cans in my car, etc. This generator has definitely lived up to my needs. It can the entire house as long as we're not running the A/C units, dehumidifier, dryer, or the oven. We have 2 refrigerators and a stand-up freezer t...

Money well spent

I bought this for my mother for Christmas and while assembling it was well built and it was very easy to running it off propane. The ease of use makes it very easy for my mother to start the unit.

Not dependable

I had to return it because it would not work. The second one I received would not work properly as well but had different issues. I went with another brand.

Solid generator with serious power

Easy to put together. Electrically started on first try. Pull start fail safe is awesome. Not too loud while running in idle or full power. Definitely heavy. Grab a strong friend or shop crane if lifting into a truck bed. Consistent output for a miller multimatic 235 welder.

Love the push button start option

After doing some research on generators, I chose the dual fuel push start generator. I have not had a generator prior to this purchase. After receiving it, I wanted to start it to be sure I could operator it. The book instructions were very clear and it was easy to start using propane and gas. One observation....the quick start tag that was attached to the generator has steps for gas and propane. Step 1 on the propane tag said to turn the gas ON. I questioned this and checked the manual wh...

Good Generator

I already left a review, however, had to fill out the registration twice as the first one did not take. We really like this generator, a lot of power for being so small. My husband is 81 and I am 75 and we had to go with this smaller size, but it does the job. We are happy with our purchase

Just Bought and runs like a top

This is our very first generator and it started right up. We feel we made a good choice and are content with it. Would do business with DuroMax again.

Good Quality

Purchase this for hurricane season. I haven't had the chance to completely put this thing to the test yet but unboxing and start up with successful.

XP5500HX Review September 2023

Purchased the XP5500HX as a back up generator for a recently installed manual switchover system. I’m happy to find a small sized dual fuel generator offering 240 volt service since in an emergency be it winter or summer wildfire power grid shutdown we would need the well to operate and a few other circuits at a minimum. It easily handled the well and many more circuits including refrigerator, microwave, internet, lights and other 120 volt circuits as we desired in the test trial. We intend to ...
