Ratings & Reviews for DuroMax HX 210cc Electric Start Camping and RV Ready 5500 Starting / 4500 Running Watt Gas and Propane Dual fuel Portable Generator

Great value and features.

I bought 5 of these generators several years ago for each of my family members. Everyone has been highly satisfied with them.

Difficult to assemble

For an elderly and/or visually disabled person, this was a nightmare to assemble...pictures too small, directions too hard...how to put oil in, hook up grounder, hoses, etc. Almost requires more than one person...almost impossible to assemble. Should be able to have it assembled in order to purchase.

Nice Machine

Easy assembly and good instructions. Too bad they do not send the oil with the generator.

Excellent small generator

I was concern about how big and heavy generators can be. this 5.5KW unit is great, easy to handle and worked like a charm on the first go using propane. I recommend the Fb Group which has great help!!

Crooks- DO NOT BUY

This company sold me a lemon. It didn't work right out of the box (certified electrician spent a FULL DAY on the phone with them) and then they put me through the headache of shipping it back to them only to be told they won't honor the warranty because of the "shipping braces" on the outside of the unit THAT THEY DEMAND BE ON THERE IN ORDER TO SHIP IT! Please save yourself $1600 and stay away from these people. They are horrific and will not back up their product!

Great light unit .

Just love they way it runs on LP gas.

Excellent choice

It arrived quicker than I thought it would. It’s really easy to set up so far. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Very disappointed

Frame was bent, when I received it, on the corner where the air breather is located. Breather cover was knocked off and will not go back on because the frame is in the way. I called the factory a couple of times and was put on hold for hours. Sent them an email a week ago and have not heard back. No support. I bought one about three years ago of similar size. It has worked beautifully. Was very happy with that machine. I will not even try to start this one without cover on breather.

Perfect

Ended up using this during hurricane beryl a few weeks ago. It ran like a champ powering the fridge, TV, DVD paler , 2 column fans and a box fan. Also used it to charge electronic devices

XP5500HX

I purchased it after Hurricane Beryl. I hope I do not have to use it much, but it is a comfort to have in the future. It is reasonably priced, and I like the fact that it uses propane or gas. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just wish it included the propane hose. I am not sure which one to purchase. I already recommended it to someone else. They will be buying one soon.

Easy set-up and great product!

Good Quality Generator

Appears to be a well made product. All the parts were in the packaging including all the tools necessary to assemble the wheels, feet and handles. The unit started up easily the first time. It worked flawlessly for two days during the recent power outage caused by Hurricane Beryl. It ran smoothly on gasoline and propane. The instruction manual was very clear and complete. It is a bit noisy, but a quieter one would cost 3 to 4 times more.

open fuel switch before starting

Set up and operating instructions are incomplete

Generator is fine. Lowe’s sold 1st to someone else

I have NOT used this product but finally have it. It was a DISASTER to get from Lowe’s. I ordered it during Hurricane discount time and had pickup ONLY for husband. We weren’t in town when it was delivered to store. We called to tell them the date we would be home and they put info in computer. Wife goes to store to pick up and waits 2.5 hours for them to find. Can find the cord but not the generator. Finally leave. Get a call that it was sold without ID provided (bc we don’t have it), and they’...
