Nothing fancy. Was just looking for replacement for my aged, yellowed covers for my flurescant light fixture (recessed, about 2x4 ft). They are flexible enough (see in picture - which just shows the scrap / part I cut off, so they'd fit). And to cut, I followed recommendations. I had a broken translucent white panel to replace. The store was out of them so I purchased the cracked ice type instead. It allows more light from the same fixture, which was a plus for me. I had to cut it to make it fit the fixture. YouTube showed me several methods to do this, depending on what tools/equipment you have. Better than the old one. I was concerned the new would be as brittle as the old one. Very happy that I could bend it to get it into place with no problem.

The panels work great, but there are so many broken ones at the store it’s hard to find enough to finish the project. I talked to a sales associate about ordering them online and she told me that there would be just as many broken ones. I appreciated the advice.

Duralens Light Panels

I decided to replace several antiquated plastic ceiling light panels that had developed some cracks and crazing over the years. It wasn't quite so obvious how much the panels had yellowed. The difference was astounding! The crisp light radiating through the new Cracked Ice Panels makes the room considerably more attractive. The new crisp definition of color adds to the appeal. This inexpensive investment is worth every penny!

Custom sizing panels for diode light fixtures

I was able to cut custom-sized panels easily with band saw using bimetal blade for hand-made lighting fixtures. This was faster & more accurate than using scoring & straight-edge technique described by vendor. Cutting curved edges in panels was only possible with the band saw. The Duralens panels proved good light transmission without allowing visualization of the diode strips producing the light.

Our kitchen ceiling fluorescent lights have 4 of these panels. I broke one changing the 8-ft bulbs. I had forgotten where we had obtained these previously, so I was very pleased that Lowe's had these panels. The new ones look very nice.
