What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these light panels for dramatically brightening rooms and eliminating yellowed, outdated appearances. Many highlight the superior light transmission and diffused pattern that softens harsh fluorescent lighting, creating a cleaner, modern look. However, a substantial number report the panels are brittle and prone to cracking during handling or cutting, requiring careful attention. Some struggle with the cutting process, while others find it manageable with proper technique. Despite fragility concerns and occasional fit issues, most customers consider the visual and functional upgrade worthwhile.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews.Would have given this item a 5 star except that the top layer of this product had cracks in the sheet of plastic that could not be seen until after the piece had been cut and was being installed. Advice, pick new sheets that are at least 3 or 4 layers below the top sheet. Remember after cutting, the product cannot be returned.

Replacement Lens
Would RecommendWe bought a house 10 years ago. The flippers chintzed out with replacing the original cracked, chipped and undersized lenses. When one of them fell and broke, it was time to replace. I was able to cleanly cut the lenses to the appropriate sizes and insert them in the overhead. The only thing I would have done differently would’ve been purchasing a milky version to spread the light out more evenly.

light panels
Would Not RecommendVEry flimsy. Broke one putting it up. Like throwing money in the garbage. Lots of broken ones at the store in the pile. I should have known better.
one and a half stars
Would Not Recommendi bought two of these to replace 30+ year old originals that were cracked and yellowed. overpriced, and they do poor job of diffusing the light. all you see is the florescent tubes shining through with little diffusion. not sure what's up with the green and yellow bands in the photo. they're only visible in the photo. the old ones with the little diamond pyramids did a much better job diffusing the light. these do look ok when the lights are off. also, they're so flimsy that they sag visi...
Cutting
Would Not RecommendTrying to cut with the exacto knife is very hard as you don’t want to crack the plexiglass. Lowe’s refused to cut it as they said it breaks too easily. I’ve been working on it for three days now and have only managed to get one piece cut. I’m still working on the second piece I need.

Better than the OPTIX brand
Would RecommendThis panel is easier to cut than the OPTIX brand, it is softer and flexible. I recommend this product.

love this as a shelf material
Would RecommendThis fits my garage shelf perfectly. Its not so rigid that it wants to break. It has a rubber like feel to it. It has a smooth side to it. It looks SO great im just so happy with it
Not the right size
Would Not RecommendWhile the description makes it clear that they are not actually 24-in X 48-in, the two I bought were even smaller than the 23.75 listed. The ones I got were actually just under 23 in wide, which made them useless for my application (kitchen light). Even the decal on them says 23.75 (I needed to fit a 24 inch opening and the 23.75 width would have worked with the metal lip on each side). So if exact width is an issue, buyer beware.
Don't buy cracked ice panels
Would Not RecommendThese panels were extremely brittle and practically impossible to cut to size. They were a total waste of money and time!
Great panel, no issues.
Would RecommendI bought this panel to cover a light in a drop ceiling in the house I just bought. A lot of people complained that it breaks too easily, but I didn’t have any issues. Just make sure that you hold it securely so that the wind doesn’t blow it, etc. I was able to cut it on my dining table (on a piece of cardboard) with a utility knife. I scored it well on the restored side and then bent it and it snapped cleanly. It looks great and was very inexpensive.
Only if you need one!
Would RecommendWe had to buy this product to replace a broken panel on or light fixture. Not the easiest thing to cut to size. Good thing we had enough material for two because the first attempt broke before cut was complete.

Works well and easy to cut to size!
Would RecommendWe needed to replace parts in our sky lights because they were old and full of moths. This plastic did the job and looks great!
