High quality and it really is nice when you can just walk in and buy a large or special kinda tool off the shelf

Awesome planer.

More features and a name I trust.

It had a bit more and a name I trust. I liked the one lock screw to remove the blades. And I can put it on any size bench, table, or counter top. It’s been 22deg and below here. And the garage is not heated. So haven’t even opened it!

Undisputed in its class

Does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Clean and efficient.

A bit pricey, but well worth it. I was amazed at the performance of this planer.

Do better

It worked great for a week and the internal gears for the push pole wheels on the inside came apart. I would expect Dewalt to have better quality not what I expected from A Dewalt product. Especially for something that cost so much Do better

Didn't live up to the hype.

It's ok but a blade upgrade is necessary asap after purchase.

Great planer, Heavy.

This is a great planer. It cuts hardwood to size per the instructions. Sipe control is OK not great. The instruction manual is terrible with limited info on the carriage control dial. The sawdust chip generation is quite large and a shop vac is not capable to remove the dust. This needs a dust control system. The 2 speed planing is very good for different purposes, sizing and finishing.

This planar did not last 6 months

I am experiencing the same problems that others are having with this planar. Wood stops feeding properly. I've checked all of the gears and sprockets--none are damaged. A local repair shop mentioned that the motor could fail and stop providing enough power to feed. Who knows... If you buy this, KEEP THE BOX. You will need it to send it back to DeWalt. This is the last DeWalt tool I will ever spend big bucks on.

Poor Experience With Dewalt and Planer

The planer worked well at first, but issues began to arise. I bought this planer and used it occasionally for making furniture for my home. After about 6-7 months, the rollers stopped moving the wood properly, causing damage to the material. The alignment was also off and would not stay level, no matter what I tried. We owned a Grizzly 12" Planner Molder back 20 some years ago. My grandfather paid $1000 for it. today that same planner is probably north of $1500. I say this because this planer though, can't do moldings is on the same level if not a bit higher than the Grizzly when it comes to planning boards efficiently, for a fraction of the cost. The depth control is a 1/16th a full turn so planning boards to thickness is easy. The instructions are not clear how to change speeds, I could not get it to shift...
