I threw out my hand tool after buying this!

I did not throw out my planer... but could. I recently put up multiple decks. The most recent one I decided to by this planer to cut down in time leveling out the joists before putting the decking on. What normally would be a day of sweat, cursing, and exhaustion with a 6 foot level turned into 2 hrs max on a 16 ft by 18 ft platform.

Easy to use

I am so pleased with this Planer. I elected to add an adapt the dust collector port to attach it to a 6 gallon vac. which allows for longer use than using the O.E.M. dust bag .

Who sells a tool without a dust bag

Works fine really should fire the guy at Dewalt that said to sell it without the dust bag not so handy to have to type a shop vac hose to it to collect all the dust makes it a major pain to maneuver would not buy again

Nice but

The tool itself works fine but who is the dope who decided not to put a dust bag with it? It is unusable without one, chips and dust go everywhere. Save the money and get a manual jack plane.

Why didn't I have one of these before...

This may be the greatest tool I've added to my shop in quite a while! Not sure why I didn't have one of these years ago.

Disappointed

Not happy that the dustbag was not included. Did not say anything in the owners manual. Had to do a deep dive into this web site before I found out that this wasn't included.

Dewalt Planer

I recommend this planer, works really well. Cuts real smooth

not needed

My wife got this as a buy one get one free item. I was not in the need for the planer, so we returned it for the Dewalt cordless 20v lithium ion shop vac. which i love.

Works fine with caveat

I have a lot of 20v Dewalt tools. When it came time to trim some doors the wife insisted on this was a no brainer purchase. My only disappointment was the chamfer feature With it set on zero depth it still cut a too wide chamfer. That needs reviewed or add the smaller grooves as seen on other dewalt planers. OH, and you will want to use this outside. It throws some serious quantity of chips. It did not come with a simple chip bag which I think is an oversight by the bean counters. A b...

Awesome tool

This one of the best tools I have ever bought. It was well worth the money I paid for it. I used it to trim down my wooden screen doors and the job was quicker that I thought it would be. Paid for itself the two times I used it. You will love the way it works

I wish I would have bought this long ago

There have been several instances in the past few months during a house remodel that I wished I knew someone nearby with a planer, then just happened to see this one on display and my wife let me get it. It's smooth, efficient and one of the handiest tools every DIYer should add to their arsenal! Now I'll be looking for projects that require a planer.

Light and Powerful

I have wanted this tool for years but just got around to it. I looked at lots of reviews and settled on the Dewalt and am so glad I did. It is easy to use and zipped through my first job with ease. I love it.

Great Planer

I am definitely a fan of Dewalt's XR series. I bought this planer to make a custom door threshold out of an oak board. Planed the tapered edges in about fifteen minutes. Fantastic tool!

Great Tool

Excellent for smoothing roughness out of the pallet boards I use a lot of on crafts.

Fun and easy

Didn’t realize how much I needed it until I had it

Excellent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to plane down some joists on a porch that were milled abnormally. This thing did the job and did it well. No bogging down even on the deepest setting and no clogs in the dust port. If this one ever dies I’ll buy another.
