Ratings & Reviews for DEWALT XR 3.25-in W 20-volt max Handheld Planer

Powerful & Easy To Use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in a rush and it is one of the best purchases so far. Lightweight and powerful. Thanks Dewalt

Great tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Given to me as a gift and I couldn't be happier. Powerful, precise and smooth operation. I'm actually considering getting a second one so I will have one for rough planning one for finish. Very happy with it. Highly recommend!

Excellent control

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own both corded and cordless. I feel the cordless gives you more feeedom and less restrictions definitely would recommend

Wonderful tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm part of a team that builds houses for Habitat for Humanity. I've found the 20V Max Planer to be extremely useful in the build process and have used it for anything from taking off a protruding top plate to trimming the backs of counter tops to fit to our not quite straight walls. I've also used it in home repairs when we have needed as an example to shim out a window and needed something larger than shims can handle and less than 1 by stock...

Good tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] excellent tool, works very well. light, strong and comfortable. the only negative point I found was the machine did not have an appropriate box. in fact I miss the boxes, almost all the machines do not come with boxes, only bags, which I do not even use.

Very easy to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first power planner. I got it to smooth out rough fence pickets, saves me so much time I practically don't have to sand the pickets. Also I'm surprised how nice of a finish is left. It is almost glass like, that said, this tool is battery hungry. I used my 2 amp hour battery at first, I'll killed that battery after doing two 8 ft by 6 in boards both sides though. But after some learning and fine tuning what I was doing I'd get about ...

Great bit of kit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a carpenter and joiner and this tool is a must have for anyone in the trade. Money well spent

Up to DeWalt’s standard

I’ve become a bit of a DeWalt “groupie” after discovering their XR series. This planer is no exception for my high expectations! It’s very maneuverable and excellent with large and small projects. I’m satisfied.

Great Planer

Planer worked great and created smooth edges. I recommend!

Wonderful ergonomics

Bought this almost a week ago. Don't know how i ever worked without it. Had install 6 new doors with continuous hinges into old frames set up for full mortise hinges. Needless to the doors didn't fit width wise do to the extra width added by using the continuous hinges. I had discussed this with the project manager months ago but, she insisted it would work because that's what it showed on the print. We all know how nice things look on paper. Anyway having this tool cut my work time down 7 ...

Cannot find dust bag or replacement blades

The instructions caution against using the tool without a dust bag, but it does not come with one and it is not sold on this site or anywhere else that I can find. This lack of parts really diminishes the tools appeal

Great Tool

Bought this yesterday. Did exactly what I needed. Great tool. Cons, No dust bag and cant find one anywhere and cant find additional blades

Good addtion to my collection

Do doors on a normal basis bought it so I do not need to take out a cord.

Great Tool - Need part numbers

It works great, but I have to admit Dewalt is making it more and more difficult to find replacement parts. The tool has a compartment for extra blades. Where is the part number for extra blades??? I have some scratches on the front and rear shoes already, where are the part numbers for just the metal shoes???

No dust bag... Or part # to order one

This is not a tool you want to use without a dust bag! No part number that I can find in the users manual or online! Great tool otherwise!

No dust Bag

I purchased this figuring that a dust bag comes with it. I have a ridgid that came with one.

hanging doors

We were hanging 14 door slabs today, all which were 1/16 - 1/4" too wide. This tool did the trick. Guide is wobbly, and had trouble at first keeping it square. I used a dust bag, which filled up fast, and then threw shavings everywhere. I started to empty it after ever 3rd 7' pass. 4AH battery lasted about 54 lf at 1/16" depth on a hollow core door before needing a new battery. Have a few spare batteries handy.
