Heavy duty indeed

This set of u-Guard bits is well made. They appear to be of superior durability. The non-marring cover helps to protect from scratching or damaging the wall or material that you are working on. The free-spinning sleeve provides enhanced control and safety for your work effort. Plus it has a lifetime warranty. Very nice bit set that should last a long time!!

This will be a great addition to my tool set for keeping screwdriver and other such tools in place. Container easy to open; attaching screwdriver bits more difficult to do.

Why wasn't this available years ago?

I've always found that using a drill for turning screws had some problems at times - and I wish I had this set long ago. This set has a bunch of impact drivers which cover many requirements - Phillips, square drive and star - in varied sizes - these are great to have. But the two items with the orange plastic housings are what makes this really terrific. I used these to put some hinges on a door and they worked well. I like that they are built for an impact driver. The case is big enough so that you can add other bits to it.

Great bit set

This is one of two different Crescent Apex bit sets. I especially like this item because of the non-marring u-Guard that allows you to hold the tool as it spins. I could have used this on many an occasion to help line up the screw prior to driving it home. All the common driver bits are included except for PH3 size. I use that one a lot. I’ll just put one of my #3’s in the case and move on with it. I believe you’ll be happy with this bit kit.

Nice addition to my drill bit set

This is a nice, useful drill bit set which compliments the others I already had owned. With the long attachment, screws stay on the bit head even when held up vertically. This is important for trying to reach places where it's hard to hold a screw or bolt steady with 1 hand, while operating the drill with the other. Great Kit

This is a super kit for the DYIER, that has problems with power bits that mar metal finishes. With the protective sleeve you never have to worry about marring the metal finish on door knobs or dead bolt knobs. There is a wide range of different bits for different screws.

Thoughtful Design and Durability

I’m a DIY homeowner, not a professional, but I like nice tools. I’m impressed with the thoughtful design and durability of this bit set. I used the PH2 holder to rehang a cherry cabinet that had fasteners in a tight space. It did not scratch or mar the wood. Also used it to replace hinges. The extension bit holder makes starting screws easy without hurting fingers. Job complete without scratches on me or the wood. Very useful drill bit set

This is a great drill bit set to have. The guard comes in two sizes, one of which can switch out the bits included in the set. The guard is great in tight places so the surrounding area is not damaged from the drill. I'm happy the bits stay in place even when upside down. I love the case to carry around when I'm working on projects to keep them all in place so they don't get lost. Great addition to the toolbox.

Non marring handy but not foolproof

The non marring feature is pretty handy. However, if you manage to get it wedged next to a surface the force can be enough to keep the non marring surface from spinning. This will cause a waxy residue to be left on the surface you are trying to keep from damage. Still an improvement over a standard apex but it is not foolproof. Also the case itself is way too big for what is included in the kit. It should be half as thick.

Very Impressed

When I received the Crescent Apex Bit Set I wasn't real impressed. Yes, the set and case were attractive but the tools appeared unexceptional and comparable to other sets I own and use regularly. Upon testing, however, I realized the benefits of the insulating, non-marring qualities of the u-Guard system. The APEX Impact Driver Bit Set Great fit and very durable. So far great without stripping out screws. Storage case is excellent and has space for a coiuple of my specialty bits.

Sturdy Container, good bits.

This is certainly a well built & sturdy set of impact bits & case. I really like the case because it will stay closed securely without reason to worry about losing bits. Time will tell how study they really are but as of know I’m very pleased with the and their performance.

Apex Bit Set

I needed some new impact bits and thought I would try these. They come organized in a sturdy case, with flip up storage bars. This set came with one PH2 U-Guard driver, which I found to be rather useful. The bit turns inside the protective sleeve and by holding this it was a bit easier to keep screws perpendicular to the hard wood I was attaching the screws to. My new toy

I needed these drill bits to drive screws into the brick wall to hang a shelf in my laundry room. I had no problem with the bits. They inserted into my drill easily.

Great kit with ability to expand

The Crescent family of products always delivers convenience and quality. This kit is no exception. It will really save your work with its non-marring bit shields. My favorite feature is it is also a finger saver. Anyone who has grabbed a screw and held it in place while driving knows some screws have sharp edges that will cut into a finger. Not fun. Crescent Apex Impact Driver Bit Set

I have used Crescent Apex tools for nearly a year now and I have found them to be of outstanding quality. The bits have shown very minimal wear despite driving everything from light drywall screws to heavy framing screws. The outer protective sleeves never heat up or bind and never mar finishes on nearby objects or allow things to be caught up by the bits.

excellent case and nice variety of bits

I already had one of their bits and really liked it, so I thought it would be nice to have a larger set. The long phillips bit is perfect for working on door knobs. I have found it hard not to scratch door knobs while tightening the screws. This long, shielded bit is perfect for this job. (Picture attached.) Very Impressive product with only 1 flaw.

The most impressive feature of these impact bits are, of coarse the non-marring feature. This is an orange plastic sleeve over the shank. The sleeve can held and used to steady the bit while driving. The small bit holder, when pushed forward causes the small bits to release easily. Good quality set with a nice case

The bits come in a very nice case. The protective sleeve driver works well. The free spinning aspect is nice so you can hold and steady the bit while drilling. I actually used the sleeve while drilling drywall screws which helped provide a good sink depth. The bits themselves are good quality. They do not strip easily.
