Ratings & Reviews for CRAFTSMAN V20 20-volt max 13.0-in Straight Shaft Battery String Trimmer 4 Ah (Battery Included) (Charger Included)

A little to powerful.

I've owned this trimmer for over a year and it's worked well, till I melted it. I was pushing it pretty hard and it should of taken the punishment but well it didn't. It has a three year warranty so Craftsman is sending me a new one. I'm relieved that it was pretty easy getting a replacement. Craftsman and DeWalt are both owned by Stanley Black and Decker so if you people can make a standard battery you'd be my hero.

Room for improvement

When it was running it did so well , but it didn’t last long. It seems that it hard to find parts and I can’t even get the head off to replace it anyway.

Can't find replacement spools

Purchased this device last year and went to find new replacement spools and are not able to find them any where. All places that used to sell them are unable to help and I have not had any success. I hope they are still available.

Great to start but doesnt last

I’ve had this unit for a little more than a year now and have incredibly fustrated with it. Its lightweight, relatively quiet and free from the need to mix fluids. The first issue was the spool. It never seemed to feed correctly and finding the right replacement spools is impossible. Fortunaley there are other options that that involves replacing the head. The second issue that is going to force me to abandon this unit is overheating/battery capacity. Even at low speed, i cannot get my entir...

Disappointed

This is my first battery operated weedeater will probably be the last.. the battery does last very long and takes well over an hour to recharge the adjustable handle moves on its own while weedeating which is annoying. I haven't tried using the blower that came with the weedeater yet if its anything like the weedeater its probably not worth the time messing with it.

20v string trimmer

Nice trimmer but it it only 6 months old and I cannot find replacement spools anywhere. Not impressed. Wont be of much value without replacement parts. Sad

No Gas Required!

This is my first battery weed eater and it is a great experience. My old gas weed eater is hanging in the garage until I donate it. Never going back to gas. I would avoid edging because I didn’t want to hear the noise from that little gas engine. My only complaint is the weed eater is not built to make edging as easy as it could be, the handle is in a track and does not turn on the shaft. But that’s overcome by the ease of starting, no engine noise and exhaust.

use it twice, then throw away

You get to use it twice.... THATS IT. Then throw it out and buy a different brand.

Same Battery as other tools, but light

This uses the same battery system as my drills, but this is light and powerful enough for me to use for yard work that is more than 100 feet from my house. I prefer electric for a system like this that is not used every week. The only combustion tool that I use is the lawnmower, so this is perfect

Stops working after a year

We've recharged it over and over but now it barely starts and the moment it touches a blade of grass it immediately stops

Excellent Quality

The trimmer works great. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Great trimmer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this trimmer to replace my gas one that would not start most of the time

Easier than gas trimmers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always used gas trimmers but decided to take a chance and change things up. I was not at all disappointed. Very happy with this trimmer.

works great

Light,cuts good,

We bought this for our son after a recent accident that broke his left arm. He was very impressed with its ease of use and the power that it has.

Works great

Very satisfied with my purchase. It’s light weight and easy to reload the string. I will recommend it to my friends.

Battery dosnt last long on "HI"

I'm giving two stars only because others had positive experience with battery my experience was not the same. I am on my 3rd charge and have only gotten around my house and halfway down a 30-40 ft ditch. Very disappointed and will know to stick to gas power next time.

Love Love Love!!

I bought this V20 Cordless 13-IN. Brushless Weedwacker 3 weeks ago and my yard has never looked better! I love the quality of this product and the durability. I think it’s a wonderful product and I would recommend to anyone!

Easy to Use, Uneasy about Durability

I bought my trimmer at a local Lowes store, and I've used it a handful of times so far. The trimmer is so easy to start compared to gas-powered models, which has backed up my choice of going battery-powered for such reasons. So I love that. I also love that I don't need to fool with the gas-oil mixture of fuel-powered trimmers. And at 6-foot-4, I like the extension option on the body length. I usually shorten it for storage and then lengthen it for use. The trimming does a pretty good job, thoug...
