The microwave drawer is exceptional! It is so convenient, particularly if one is short. I was surprised that the opening and closing was so smooth. It is powerful and cooks accurately.

I absolutely love this microwave drawer! It's so easy to use and works great! It looks great too!

Do not buy for an island!

The control screen on the microwave is very hard to read. Pale lettering on black. It looks like it should light up, but it doesn't. The only thing that lights up is the little screen that tells you the time set to microwave. You really need to have all the kitchen light on full blast in the kitchen to see the choices at all. This was sold to me as an island microwave. Absolutely not! The control panel does not flip open so you can see it from the top. I have had island microwaves before....

Don’t buy!

Echoing what others have said. Out of the 1 year warranty period and had what must have been a small fire in the back corner from arching. Afraid to use the microwave again. Super disappointed because this microwave was expensive and we expected a superior product. Relieved we didn’t have a kitchen fire!

DO NOT BUY SAFETY HAZARD

Within one year the microwave began sparking and shortly after the drawer won’t remain closed due to a faulty latch. At least 80% of these are reported as faulty. Surely the MFR will do something?!

Back light?

Like the cafe but with it being this expensive I wonder why the manufacture did not back light the panel !

Get a flashlight!

Microwave looks and performs well. The disappointment comes from not being able to see the control panel very well. Because of the location in the island, you have to bend down to see controls and the panel has no lights. Frustrating!

DO NOT BUY... Tons of issues

As I am now seeing in many other reviews, we have experienced two common issues including the panel failure (repaired twice now) and the sparking/arcing due to faulty wheels in both corners. We splurged on a whole suite of Cafe appliances from this collection for our kitchen renovation and I'm really disappointed. I have now spent a ridiculous amount of time and money trying to keep this microwave functional.

Great microwave

I absolutely love this drawer microwave. I thought I might not like it because it’s lower than I was used to. But, that is the exact reason I love it.

Best Drawer Microwave

Was hesitate to get a drawer microwave, but glad we did. Fits perfectly in our island. Many features to use. Good quality

Why no control lights other than cook time/clock?

Why are the controls not lit? Where the clock is, etc. is easy to see, but you can't see the "feature" buttons.

Buyer beware

Do not buy this microwave. If 0 stars was an option I would have selected. BEWARE! When the microwave breaks GE will tell you that it is normal operation and that there is no fix. Not to mention the rude service that comes with it. I would never suggest this product to my worst enemy.

Best idea for my kitchen . I have a small footprint and this option works beautifully as a space saving option .

Controls are on the front where it’s easy to brush against them. I am constantly having to clear the board!

Sleek Black Matte Stainless Microwave

Looks great. Just installed so haven’t used yet but it’s sleek and feels substantial.

Sparking and burning components

After just 1.5 years - just outside the warranty period, of course - we're having the same issue with sparks and burning components that other customers have reported. All of the issues appear to be happening at the same point in the microwave, in the back corners where the drawer rollers rest against the interior when the door is closed. This is clearly a design or manufacturing defect. And now we have to pay out of pocket to repair or replace an expensive, relatively new microwave.

Drawer Microwave

I am constantly pushing clear on this microwave because I accidentally touch it as I walk by! It's a real nuisance! I wish I had chosen the more expensive drawer microwave with its controls hidden on the top, out of my way!

Sparks!

Like others, ours is sparking in the same back left bottom. This is clearly a defect and known issue. I’m so disappointed in Cafe. How can this be fixed? (Copy of previous review) I am having exact same issues.
