Rethink This One as a Choice Appliance

The capacity of this refrigerator is awful. I’m not sure why the depth of this appliance is so shallow. The drawer depths are also shallow. And then the gap under the lower long vegetable drawer doesn’t allow for anything to be stored but creates a cleaning nightmare.

Love the style

Love this fridge. I do wish the vegetable/ fruit bens were bigger.

Good looking refrigerator

Love the cafe line but this refrigerator has been a problem & it’s only been installed for Less than 2 weeks

Crummy inside drawers

The drawers in the main frig are wimpy and flimsy and won’t stay in their tracks. The doors tend to stay open unless I forcefully close them.

Well … Water filter is inside the fridge!

Nice design but handle bar doesn’t match the gold handle of the kitchen and the water filter is inside the fridge which doesn’t make any sense

Capacity issues

The design of the freezer section is not very good as it is difficult to fit much in the freezer. The water flow in the refrigerator is very slow.

Build quality less that it should be

Quality build of drawers inside the refrigerator is vey poor. Looks like brown glue is showing through the plastic drawers. Very unsatisfied with this. One year warranty has passed, so I guess I am stuck with it. Everything else is good except this. Seems like the warranty should be longer than a year. This is obviously a build quality issue which I think should still be covered. I have photos but the add images feature does not work.

Bottom Freezer Door Doesn't Close

Operates as expected except that the bottom freezer door does not close without slamming it several times. Did have serviceman come out; he replaced the side tracks saying that it wasn't "latching" properly. Then it worked well for 4 months. Same problem. I had to buy an extended warranty so that I can get this reoccurring issue corrected as necessary.

Awful GE Experience

First cafe stopped working twice-only 2 years old. Needed a new compressor! Lost all our refrigerator and frozen foods!! It was replaced but we were told the new refrigerator would have NO warranty. Now we have another new Cafe Refrigerator that runs soo loud it annoys you!!! Brand new NO warranty!

Avoid GE appliances

We have had our cafe refrigerator for three years. The filters come on an auto ship for replacement. Our last set had two faulty filters which is about $100 in filters. When I called to say they were faulty GE told me they were out of warranty even though they send a 3 pack that is replaced every 6 months. When I said that is ridiculous they told me well you don’t have to buy 3 at a time. Horrible customer service and as soon as this refrigerator breaks we will be switching brands.

Water Dispensing Button Terrible

The water button on the inside is EXTREMLY hard to push. You have to use two hands, whereas we prefer the design where you push a lever with your glass and the water dispenses. Poor design and regret this purchase for that reason.

Excellent product, professionally installed. No downside.

Very noisy!

Ridiculously loud, whining compressor noise that is apparently normal for this model. Overall, a disappointing first time purchase of GE Cafe line, including a range that came with a faulty convection fan.

Quiet Operation

This refrigerator is very quiet. This is a desirable feature in our home.

Great product

Love the look! Due to French door style did not fit great into refrigerator opening. Had to stick out more than older frig. However, I do not mind because I love the look.

Good fridge, spacing could be better configured.

Decent fridge so far. The only complaints is with the size of the freezer and the water dispenser. Freezer drawers are angled, not square. You can't fit very much in them. The water dispenser inside the fridge is also difficult and awkward to use, you have to press the button to dispense yourself instead of being able to just put a cup up against to dispense. It's hard to press also.

Life spawned right now can not u this refrigerator

Purchased this refrigerator 6 years ago - the inside light starting malfunctioning. Then the temp starting rising . Terrible customer service from the cafe company . A refrigerator like this should last a lot longer !

Good company

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator and freezer is perfect size and is very easy to organize. The best part about dealing with GE is that my appliance person takes care of me and when the fridge did not work exactly as it should, they replaced the entire thing with no questions asked. I also bought the copper handles for all of the appliances and it looks great.
