Perfect for our toddler

This swing-set is perfect for our toddler! It’s not too big, and there’s still room for her to grow into it. The only drawback was how long it took to put it together. It was a full weekend project for us! Thankfully the directions were straightforward. Just take your time and follow the directions if you buy this!

Spilt boards

There were several pieces not labeled. Boards that were split in places. Materials felt cheap.

Easier to Build Than I Thought!

Took two days, but my husband and I paced ourselves since we’re both 65+. I thought the slide would be a challenge, but it easily went together. Time consuming, but overall a good product. Most importantly, SORT THE THE WOOD AND THE HARDWARE AND DON’T TRY TO RUSH IT! Makes it so much smoother to assemble. Didn’t realize it was made in Pittsburg, Kansas our neighbors to the north.

Nice swing but wood seems thin.

Wood seems very thin and does split if you are not careful. Not sure it is cedar but maybe a cedar coating because some pieces have a thin peeling like a coat of primer or paint. Laying everything out is very helpful. Everything was there and make sure you double check when using the hardware so you don't mix up the bags they come in. Not sure how well it will hold up but it seems sturdy at this point. We are going to stain the wood so we know that it has been stained.

Nice swing set

Very nice...wood very dry and couple boards split and concerned how its going to hold up but kids love it and had to pry them off it as darkness fell

Takes FOREVER to put together, but amazing

I love the product itself for the price, but putting it together took FOREVER! We had three people putting it together and it took about 6 hours.

Great product for the price!

The set was easy to put together. The pieces fit together as they should and all the holes were drilled perfectly where they should be. The quality was good for the price paid. The app made it a snap to assemble.

Giving away after 10 years of use!

I had purchased this set in 2012 when my son was only 2. Now, 10 years later, it's still pretty sturdy and is going to it's new home today for hopefully years more. To anyone wondering if it's worth it, yes!! As long as you are willing to refinish it and take care of it as needed, this set will last you longer than expected! Thank you!

Lakewood Swing Set

This swing set is perfect for our two year old and his pals. I will say, it’s not necessarily strong enough for adults to play on, but that’s not what it’s meant for. We had a professional put it together, by himself, in 3.5 hours. Oh! And the shipping was also very quick! We ordered it on a Sunday, and it was delivered on Friday!

Quality swingset

As with any wood there are small defects but overall a great swingset. A couple of the darker pieces the coating was peeling, revealing the lighter wood underneath but solid materials. Great that it comes with some extra screws/bolts for when you eventually lose one or two. Instructions are easy to follow.

Reliable Company

Backyard Discovery is very enjoyable to work with. Their play set is good quality and the color is accurate. We have a 5 and 3 year old and both can plan on this playset independently. Our 5 year old will outgrow the swing soon or he’ll just have to not swing his highest. But right now it’s great and the height of the stairs is what we wanted for safe independent play in the backyard. Need more then one person to put together.

My grandson is enjoying the swing set, he is 1.5 years old. He is able to navigate up & down the ladder and down the slide pretty well.
