Ratings & Reviews for Backyard Discovery Lakewood Wooden Playset Residential Wood Playset

Very thin material

Over all I was disappointed in the product due to all the damage on numerous pieces. Pieces of wood that already had damage just worsened as we put the swing set together. Also just my opinion, I honestly expected it to be bigger due to the age limit that it has. I have cousins that can’t even play on it due to the sounds of “wood cracking”.

trash and cheaply made

I got all the pieces HOWEVER this is trash dont waste ur money! Aside from the face it costs way more than it should it says 5 hours averge to build thats a lie! The wood is disgustingly cheap! Came cracked splits easily and needs to be trrated although says its treated! Id say you gwt wjat tou paid for but then i would have a better quality set! Will NOT buy this crap again!

Poor Quality

This device is poorly designed and the materials are substandard. My son and I built it just before Christmas and started using it after Christmas. Noticed the swings produced a lot of torque in the house frame, moving as much as 2 inches during swinging with more than one person. I reinforced the house frame and stiffened it quite a bit but still get a lot of movement....more than a wood structure can withstand for the long term. The house corner columns are significantly undersized. The b...

No issues for me

I purchased this for my grandsons and they love it. All the parts came in the 3 boxes. I am a 60 yr old grandma and i put 90% of it together by myself. I did have help with putting the Swing board on the tree house and the spikes..I was very careful to keep and refer to the packing slips, I kept the bolts, screws and T nuts organized. I finished in a weekend plus a few hours Monday night.

Great swingset

I bought this almost a year ago as a COVID-survival purchase and it has been one of the best things. The kids love it and will be enjoyed for many years to come! FYI- It took my husband 8 hours to assemble by himself.

Easy to follow instructions!

The assembly was great using the BILT app. Our 2.5 year old loves it and it seems very durable and built to last!

Great value

Not easy to put together but a great value, good quality. Bought this for 3yo twins, they are 4 now and love it more than ever. I fully expect this to last them until they are 7-8yo. Needs a coat of stain or varnish out of the box and periodically (depending on climate) and it will stay looking nice. Very happy with this product.

cheap made. wood splits & breaks.

Very thin materials!! This was bought for my 2yr old grand daughter for christmas & within a month it was splitting & busting. Its impossible to disassemble something this size to return. They should make a better quality product.

Great Playset

This is a great set. The instructions were clear and the NEW BLT app you can see 3D renderings which confirm what your reading on the book plans. The swingset is well constructed and very sturdy. Kids love it.

Overall nice swing set. The slide assembly was way more difficult than it should be. A 1 piece slide would be a better option. It takes longer than 5 hours to put together.

Good looking and functional

I absolutely love how it looks ! It was hard for us to put it all together, I was able to find local NJ company who does this (google k-goodhome for them) and it was all done in half day. It's also better to have a nice flat foundation for playground. Our backyard have a slope so happily our handymen were experienced and knew how to properly level it. Me and my husband wouldn't figure this out.

awesome for the little littles!

We searched and searched for weeks trying to find a little kid swingset for our 2 year old. It seemed like all the swingsets seemed to go toddler/mini plastic slide ti huge slides really meant for 5 years and up. Then we found this one! The slide is the perfect size for our tiny two year old and not too small for her biggest cousin (11 y/o) to enjoy. she loves every bit of this set! She was so excited. We also added a doorbell and phone to the clubhouse and put her chairs inside. The set took ...

Poor QA

I bought this item two weeks ago. It did arrive on time. As we started setting up, I started running into broken/cracked wood pieces. At least 15 to 20 pieces are cracked. Since lowes allows only to upload six images, I am uploading worse six pieces here for everyone to see. As I am halfway through setting it up, I am wondering do I ask for replacement or return the item. It does have a really good review here on Lowes but the one I got has poor quality check.

Love...love...!!

I brought this for my 9 and 3 year old.....they love it!

Best purchase! Trust me, BUY IT!

We planned to buy this playground for my daughter’s 3rd birthday in June 2020, however, we decided to purchase it months earlier, right before our city issued a stay-at-home order. I cannot tell you how many times my husband and I have expressed how glad we are that we purchased this item when we did. My daughter has had countless adventures on this playground! The colors are attractive and it‘a sturdy. It’s been through quite a few Texas rainstorms with crazy wind and hasn’t budged. It took my ...
