Would RecommendI had purchased a lawnmower from Lowes in 2006 and had never replaced or sharpened the blade. The idea of changing the blade was terrifying to me. (I am a 62 year old female). I figured 10 years was long enough. I saw this blade removal tool on Lowes website and decided to give it a try. I read the instructions, opened the package, turned the mower on its side, attached the tool to the lawnmower and replaced the blade all in 20 minutes!!! This is as simple as it gets.

Would RecommendWe purchased this to make the removal of the old blade and the application of the new blade easier than it would have been without it. The tool secures the blade making it safer to work with in the long run.
Not Good for my 46" Riding Mower with Three Blades
Would Not RecommendThis tool would only secure one of the three blades on my MTD 46". Could not find a good spot to anchor it for the middle blade, or the blade on the chute side. I ended up using a 2x4 for these blades. It did a great job on the one blade and I thought that this is going to make it really easy. Not so.

Would RecommendBeats the heck out of a 2X4 jammed between blade and cowling. Leaves both hands free to remove old blade and align new blade. Just make sure the screw is turned down tight

Would RecommendEven though the tools enabled me to remove the mower blade easily I almost left it attached when I finished. If I had tried to start the mower with the tool attached the engine would have been destroyed. I suggest that something as a reminder like a lanyard be attached that is long enough to place near the starting mechanism as a reminder to prevent trying to start the mower while the tool is attached.

Would RecommendThis tool holds the mower blade and prevents it from spinning so that you can remove the blade bolt. it is safer then wedging a 2X4 the the frame. It worked great for me. it has a hard plastic cover molded on the tightening bolt to prevent damage to the mower frame.

Would RecommendGood tool, does the job as it should, the only complaint is that it should be painted in a high-visibility orange color so that you can tell that it's still installed before using the mower. Tried to provide feedback to Arnold Parts, but there is no email address anywhere on their site.
