Practically industructible & great Manufacturer

We bought the Ironside Mailbox in 2010 from Lowes after needing to replace cheaper ones several times. Years later, the Ironside still is in great shape. A couple of months ago, an out-of-control vehicle veered off the road, drove right through our mailbox, and obliterated the mailbox post. The mailbox survived with no damage. Heavy Duty Mailbox.

This is one great mailbox. It is very heavy and can withstand a hit with a bat. Mine has been hit and is still standing.

bought another one

I bought the first one because it was very sturdy, and the door shut smoothly and securely. The magnet bracket was plastic and it apparently dry rotted and broke after many years. I bought this one to replace the original. It still beats everything else on the shelf for quality and strength. A bit pricey but worth it.

Super sturdy and strong. I'm sure this will easily withstand the kids with the baseball bats around my neighborhood.

Inspect Before Install

I've installed a total of 8 of these Gibraltar Ironside MB801B and vey similar Solar Gorup Tuff Body TB1B0000 boxes. I'm offering full customer cost refund of MB801B box installed this week due to water damaged mail. Inspection reveals fit of front lid to sides and back panel to sides at mid height allows light to penetrate thru box front to back. Durability, not the “el cheapo” kind

If you’re looking for a classic looking mailbox that will hold up over the years, this one is for you. You can feel the quality material vs a cheap plastic or even poorly manufactured metal one.

Mail Box is heavy duty and well worth the cost. It should last a lot longer than the cheep ones

Metal box is sturdy

We desperately needed to replace our old mailbox. This box seems to be strong and sturdy.

Easy Installation

I purchased this mailbox due to its strength. It is rated as one of the more resistant to vandalism. The company had all the parts I would need to mount it to a new pole.

HD Box

Box was HD and will last much longer than the typical thin box. I always purchase these boxes for our roual homes because they will withstand kids and their drive buys playing games with ball bats.

Wish our entire neighborhood would install the mailbox and the post as I and my neighbor did. We have the best looking mailboxes on the block.

Does the job

I had a white version of this mailbox for 18 years. After ~15 years the door rusted off and I had to repair it. Recently a car hit solidly enough to break the 4x4 it was mounted on in two places; the mailbox was ripped to shreds. I've had to put it back up half a dozen times after cars have taken it down. It was dented, but still serviceable. But what I really like is that it does more damage to the car than the car does to the mailbox.
