Bad water heater

I bought this water heater on April 18, 2025 and had a certified plumber install it. It took over 24 hours to heat up and then it stopped heating up. This certified plumber and myself brought it back to Lowes for a refund. The manager said they would not accept this WH for a refund. I had to leave it there because the plumber left and I had no way to transport it. I call A.O. Smith several times and they said they wouldn't accept it without some type of "reading". AO Hot Water Heater

Having to buy another hot water heater after 19 months is very stressful. I noticed water leaking from the element box on the bottom. I called maintenance man who came out to look at it and said it wasn't leaking from the element and seen that the insulation was wet and water was running not just leaking from . Never received after a month of waiting!

Never received after a month on order! I ordered this water heater to replace our 20 year old heater for home owners insurance and after a month of waiting, 3 calls to customer service and two trips to the store the water heater was lost and never delivered. I had to scramble last minute to purchase and install a different water heater and pay twice as much. Customer service was very unhelpful, and I was told three different stories along the way. Horrible experience with Lowe's Installation

Terrible experience with Lowe's Installation. The installer damaged the unit, then tried to hide it by taping the manual over the damage. Worse yet, Lowe's Installation support refused responsibility and even suggested I falsely claim a manufacturing defect. Shameful service and disappointing product—my old 15-year-old heater performed better (shouldn't have replaced it, it worked well).

Stays Hot

We have had this product for a week and it always delivers hot water. My youngest child has to have the water as hot as possible. Now we can shower after him and everyone has hot water.

Dented tanks

Had to make two trips to the store and both times hotwater tank was defective as in dented on the top rim. After the 2nd trip home I called customer service and was basically told return it or live with it. If it leaks bring it back. This was on a Sunday afternoon and we had to have hot water for the morning. Only two in stock or in the area was the ones I had. Had to buy a second AO Smith WH after 15 months

Had to buy a second AO Smith water heater after 15 months when I noticed water leaking from the element box on the bottom. I called our plumber who came out to look at it and said it wasnt leaking from the element and could figure out why all the insulation was wet from and tank filled with water from bottom panel down. Selling our house so had to get a quick replacement and went with AO Smith again from Lowes but would not recommend. Disappointed in quality of the Water heater.
