TPR Valve in wrong place.

The TPR valve is directly over the Drain?! Other than this issue, the water heater is performing well.

The water heater was very easy to install. I liked the side connections.

Online price was great, installation was easy AND it included extra, exterior insulation for the heater and a bit of the pipe. In store, the same model but with top pipe connections rather than side, sold for $670. This one, same spec.s and size (only difference is side connections) sold for $400.

Love this product, fits so well in the space. Does a great job with heating!

Good size for crawl space.

I would have gave it a 5, but I was going to flush it because of new construction and water came around the stem instead of the faucet.

I bought this for our cabin,small bathroom ,kitchen sink and shower ! Was so simple to install with pipe nipples already on and hook up 2 wires That's it! works great nice hot water in no time!! awesome price and awesome warranty!

Hot Water Smells Terrible

I installed this A O Smith Lowboy water heater less than one year ago and it was fine for several months but then the hot water started to smell like garbage. Plumber said it was likely a faulty anode but when I reported the matter to A O Smith, their customer service rep advised it was the fault of quality of water to my 100 unit condominium complex but they could sell me another anode that might resolve the smell. My problem is that the plumber wants a few hundred just to remove the heater ...

Good to install in cramped space; good recovery times

Heats up quickly

This water heater does heat up the water quickly from a cold start. The only cons for this water heater is that when installing in a closet and the piping has to go down from the heater and having the cold in and hot out directly above one another it takes extra work and fittings to install it. Also having the PT valve directly above the tank drain causes you to use extra fittings and can be very difficult in a tight closet install.

Lowes product or merchandise: If you purchase a hot water heater from Lowes, you should be able to return it there. From what I’ve read: problem apparently is the thermostat. Two times now no hot water!!! Less than 1 year old and to date had to hit the reset button within 2 weeks apart.
