Would Not RecommendPurchased in 2024 to maintain a hot water "loop" in my home's "on-demand" system. Began leaking past the terminal screw, shorting/destroying the Intermatic timer. Upon removal of the lower element, it had deformed and split open lengthwise. My plumber had never seen anything like it - Beware!

Leaked after 15 months
Would Not RecommendSeemed like an ideal replacement for our undercounter water heater. Side connections made installation easier than the previous model's top connections in tight spaces. Worked great until one day we looked in to find water in the pan and the insulation soaked. The pan saved us from damaging the downstairs neighbor's condo. Now I have for try for a warranty replace and do a lot of work to remove and replace it.

Very bad hot water heater
Would Not RecommendI had a brand new AO Smith electric hot water heater installed that has a dangerous defect from the factory and needs replacement. For the warranty coverage I need to have it uninstalled and return to Lowes to swap for replacement. They have no tech in the area to do the work so I need to get my own plumber and they will reimburse $150. So the plumber charges $200 to start a service call and $70 an hour after the first hour. Would RecommendAs advertised, seems efficient although only Day 2. Only issue was the pressure relief valve tube aligns directly above drain tap, meaning difficult getting a non-flex tube past drain tap to floor drain.
